국문 초록

산업혁명 이후 성장 위주의 자연환경 개발은 자원고갈, 환경오염, 에너지 문제 등 여러 가지 부작용을 야기하였다. 이러한 문제들의 해결방법을 모색하기 위해 1987년 세계환경위원회(WCED)는 처음으로 지속가능한 발전의 개념을 제시하였고, 이후 유엔(UN)을 비롯한 국제적 기관들은 환경 문제에 대해 국가적 차원에서 공동 대처하고 있다. 도시계획은 지속가능한 사회의 개념을 가장 일찍부터 적극적으로 받아들이고 실현해 온 분야로 2015 개정 중학교 기술 교과서에서도 도시와 관련된 학습 내용이 구성되어 있으나, 도시화로 인한 문제 상황을 이해하고 해결방법을 탐색하는 수준에 그쳐 학생들이 지속가능한 도시의 모습을 직관적으로 이해하는 데 어려움이 있었다. 이 연구의 목적은 2015 개정 기술 교육과정의 지속가능한 발전 단원을 학습하는 학생들이 도시의 구성요소를 이해하고 환경용량 내에서의 지속가능한 도시에 대한 통합적인 안목을 지닐 수 있도록 지속가능한 도시 만들기 교수ㆍ학습 자료를 개발하는 데 있다. 이 연구에서는 준비, 개발, 실행, 평가의 4단계로 연구를 진행하였으며, 43명의 중학교 3학년 학생을 대상으로 총 7차시 수업을 실시하여 지속가능한 발전의 개념 인식과 태도 변화를 분석하였다. 이 연구를 통해 지속가능한 도시 만들기 교수ㆍ학습 자료를 활용한 수업을 받은 학생들은 지속가능한 발전의 개념 인식 및 태도 변화에 긍정적인 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 그 효과성 또한 높은 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

After the Industrial Revolution, the growth-oriented development caused various side effects such as resource exhaustion, environmental pollution, and energy problems. In order to find solutions to these problems, the World Environment Committee(WCED) first presented the concept of sustainable development in 1987, and then international organizations, including the United Nations, have been cooperatively responding to environmental problems at the national level. Urban planning is an area that has actively embraced and realized the concept of a sustainable city from the earliest. In the 2015 revised middle school curriculum, contents related to cities are also organized. However, it was difficult for students to intuitively understand the appearance of a sustainable city because the content of learning was limited to understanding the problem situation caused by urbanization and exploring solutions. The purpose of this study is to develop teaching and learning materials for creating sustainable cities so that students can understand the components of the city and have an integrated view of sustainable cities within environmental capacity. In this study, teaching and learning materials were developed in four stages of preparation, development, implementation, and evaluation, and classes were conducted for 43 middle school students to analyze the concept awareness and attitude change of sustainable development. As a result, students who received lessons using materials for teaching and learning to create sustainable cities were found to have a positive effect on the concept awareness and attitude change of sustainable development, and the effectiveness was also high.
