간호대학생의 장애인에 대한 태도 연구

국문 초록

장애인을 접할 가능성이 다른 전공에 비해 높은 간호대학생을 대상으로 장애인에 대한 태도를 파악하여 간호대학생의 장애인식 개선을 위한 교육 프로그램 개발을 위한 기초자료를 제공하고자 수행되었다. 본 연구는 장애인에 대한 태도나 장애인식을 조사하기 위해 개발된 장애인 태도 요인 분석 척도(Disability Factor Scales; DFS)를 수정 및 보완하여 간호대학생을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 설문 조사기간은 2019년 11월 25일부터 12월 4일까지 경북에 위치한 D대학교 간호학과 1학년~4학년까지 336명의 학생들을 대상으로 실시되었다. 설문조사를 완료한 후에 SPSS 통계프로그램을 이용하여 기술통계, 독립표본 t-test, one-way ANOVA로 분석하였다. 성별, 학년, 가족 중 장애인 유무, 장애인 친구의 유무, 장애인과의 대화 경험, 장애인과 함께 행사에 참여한 경험, 장애인 관련 수업을 이수한 경험을 배경 요인으로 하였다. 장애인에 대한 태도 전체에 통계적인 유의미함을 나타낸 배경 요인은 장애인과 함께 행사에 참여한 경험(F=2.769, p=.018), 장애인과의 대화 경험(F=2.579, p=.026)이었다. 본 연구결과 경험 횟수가 많은 것보다 장애인식을 개선할 수 있는 의미 있는 상호작용과 경험이 중요하였으며 이를 기반으로 한 간호대학생의 장애인에 대한 태도를 개선할 수 있는 교육 프로그램이 개발되어야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

Nursing students have a higher possibility of encountering people with disabilities than students in other majors. Thus, the present study aimed to provide basic data to develop educational programs to improve nursing students’ perception of disabilities by identifying their attitude toward people with disabilities. A revised and supplemented version of the Disability Factor Scales(DFS) was administered to the nursing students to assess their attitudes regarding people with disabilities or perception of disabilities. In all, 336 freshmen through senior students in the nursing department at D University in Gyeongbuk were surveyed between November 25 and December 4, 2019. Data were analyzed for descriptive statistics, independent t-test, and one-way ANOVA using SPSS. Background factors included gender, grade, having a family member with disabilities, having a friend with disabilities, the experience of conversing with a person with disabilities, the experience of participating in events with a person with disabilities, and experience of taking a class on disability. Background factors that significantly influenced the attitudes regarding people with disabilities included the experience of participating in events with a person with disabilities(F=2.769, p=.018) and conversing with a person with disabilities(F=2.579, p=.026). To be specific, significantly meaningful interactions and experience that can improve the perception of disabilities played a key role rather than simply the number of experiences. Based on the findings of this study, there is a need for the development of a training program that facilitates the improvement of the nursing students’ attitude regarding people with disabilities.
