국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 부모의 목소리 녹음을 통한 그림책 읽어주기가 유치원 방과후과정 학급 유아의 읽기 흥미 및 읽기 태도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보는 것이다. 연구대상은 S시에 위치한 A유치원 방과후과정 중 독립편성 종일제 학급의 만 3-4세 유아 24명이었다. 연구를 위해 2019년 4월 1일부터 7월 5일까지 14주간 부모의 목소리 녹음을 통한 그림책 읽어주기를 실시하였다. 연구결과 유아의 읽기 흥미 및 읽기 태도 모두 사후검사 점수가 사전검사 점수보다 높았으며, 이는 통계적으로 유의한 수준이었다. 이러한 결과는 부모의 목소리 녹음을 통한 그림책 읽어주기가 유치원 방과후과정 학급 유아의 읽기에 대한 관심과 흥미를 자극함으로써 읽기에 대한 긍정적인 태도를 형성하는데 도움을 주었다고 해석할 수 있다. 본 연구결과는 부모의 목소리 녹음을 통한 그림책 읽어주기가 유치원 방과후과정 학급 유아의 읽기 흥미 및 읽기 태도 향상에 효과적인 교수학습 방법이 될 수 있음을 시사한다. 이에 교사들이 유아교육현장에서 유치원 방과후과정 학급 유아들의 책 읽기를 지원하기 위한 실질적인 방안으로 적극 활용할 수 있기를 기대한다.

영문 초록

The aim of this study is to investigate what effects picture book reading through parents’ voice recording has on the reading interest and reading attitude of young children in a kindergarten after-school class. The subjects of this study were 24 young children between the ages of 3 and 4 in an independently organized full-time after-school class in A kindergarten located in S city. In order to achieve the aim of this study, picture book reading utilizing parents’ voice recording was implemented for 14 weeks from April 1 to July 5, 2019. As a result of comparing the children’s reading interest and reading attitude test scores measured before and after implementing the picture book reading using parents’ voice recording, the post-test scores of both reading interest and attitude were found to be higher than the pre-test scores at a statistically significant level. Regarding these results, it can be construed that picture book reading through parents’ voice recording helps young children in kindergarten after-school classes form positive attitude about reading by stimulating their interest in reading. The results of this study suggest that picture book reading through parents’ voice recording can be an effective teaching-learning method to improve the reading interest and attitude of young children. Therefore, it is hoped that teachers will actively adopt picture book reading through parents’ voice recording in early childhood educational settings as a practical way to support young children’s reading in kindergarten after-school classes.
