코로나19에 따른 초등 교사의 온라인 수업 경험 분석

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 코로나19 사태 이후 시작된 온라인 수업에 대한 교사의 경험을 확인하고 앞으로의 온라인 교육 방향을 모색하기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해 서울 소재 초등학교 교사 6명을 대상으로, 2020년 7월에서 8월 초에 걸쳐 포커스 그룹 인터뷰(Focus Group Interview: FGI)를 실시하였다. 인터뷰 후 자료를 질적 내용분석(qualitative content analysis)으로 조직화(organizing)하였다. 분석 결과, 첫째 환경적 경험은 지침에 따른 학교 운영의 변화, 구성원에 따른 의사결정, 동료교사와 협업구조 형성으로 나타났다. 둘째, 심리적 경험은 감염병에 대한 두려움, 변화에 따른 당황스러움, 수업에 대한 부담감, 콘텐츠 제작 관련 기대감, 뿌듯함과 부러움으로 드러났다. 셋째, 실천적 경험은 온라인 프로그램 사용 방법 습득, 수업 콘텐츠 제작, 교사 집단지성의 발휘, 열린 수업 구조로의 변화였다. 넷째, 학생 관련 경험은 학생의 학력 저하 파악, 학생 역량·성실성의 판별, 참여 동기 및 주의력 저하 확인이었다. 다섯째, 학부모 관련 경험은 공교육의 의미 제고, 학력 저하에 대한 두려움과 사교육 의존, 온라인 환경에 대한 적대감 표현으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 교사들은 앞으로 온라인 수업 방향에 대해 현재의 일방향 수업에 한계를 극복해야 한다고 했으며, 학생의 학습을 위해 조력자로서 교사의 역할이 더욱 부각되어야 한다고 보았다. 그리고 미래 온라인 수업을 위한 아젠다 제시와 지원이 필요하다고 보았다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to explore online class experiences that started after the outbreak of COVID-19 and also identify the direction of online education. For this, focus group interview(FGI) was conducted on 6 teachers of a school located in Seoul and the data was organized with qualitative content analysis. As a result of conducting the analysis, first, it showed that the environmental experiences of the teachers about the online classes were displayed as changes in the school followed by the guidelines, decisions made by the members, and the cooperative structure with fellow teachers. Second, the psychological experiences about the online classes included fear about the infectious disease, confusion and anticipation about the changes, burden about online classes, and contentment and envy about contents production. The practical experiences of online classes included online platform and acquisition of program method of use, production of learning contents, display of collective intelligence by the teachers, and changes into an open instruction structure. From the students perspectives, the influence of online classes led to problems such as the decline of academic abilities, suggestion of new viewpoints about the students, and participation motives. From the student parents perspectives, the influence of online classes brought up sub-topics such as the reconsideration of meaning about public education, fear about the decline in their child s academic ability and reliance on private education, and hostility about the online environment. Lastly, teachers stated that the current limitations of one-way class should be overcome in regards to the direction of the online classes from now, and also that the roles of the teachers should be highlighted as the helpers for the students to learn. In addition, it is considered that a suggestion of an agenda and support for future online classes are necessary.
