국문 초록

이 논문은 학생 주도성(학습자 주도성)에 기초한 교육의 혁신 방안을 연구하는 것이다. 미래 사회에서 요구하는 변혁적 역량이나 창의적 문제해결력을 기르기 위해서는 교사 주도의 수업이 아니라 학생 주도의 학습으로 전환하는 것이 필요하다. 학생 주도성은 자신의 삶과 학교생활, 사회생활에서 스스로 목표를 정하고 그것을 주체적으로 성취하고 책임지는 역량이다. 학생 주도성은 교과 수업과 학생 자치 활동을 주도적으로 수행하는 경험을 통해 공동체 문제를 해결하기 위해 정치과정에 주체적으로 참여하는 시민의 주도성으로 연결된다. 그래서 학생 주도성은 미래 역량을 기르는 교육의 기본적 토대가 된다. 학생 주도성에 기초한 교육으로 혁신하기 위해서는 근본적으로 교사 주도 교육 패러다임을 학생 주도 교육 패러다임으로 전환하고, 학생이 주도적으로 학습할 수 있는 수업 구조와 환경을 제공해야 한다. 교사는 수업의 설계 단계부터 학생과 상호 협의하여 무엇을 어떻게 배울지 함께 결정하고, 그에 따라 학생이 자신의 학습 과정을 주도해 배우는 교수·학습 방법을 적용해야 한다. 학생 주도성은 교과 수업뿐만 아니라 비교과 활동 및 학생 자치 활동에도 적용될 수 있다. 학생이 학교의 주체로서 수업과 학교 활동에 대해 협의하여 결정하고 그것을 책임있게 수행할 기회를 가져야 한다. 이처럼 학생 주도성에 기초한 교육이 이루어지면, 학생의 학업 성적도 향상되고 자기 효능감, 책임감 등이 향상될 것이다.

영문 초록

This paper is to study the innovative method of education based on student agency. In order to develop thinking competence, it is necessary to transform to student-directed learning, not teacher-directed classes. Student agency is defined as the capacity to set a goal and act responsibily to effect change. It implies having the ability and the will to positively influence one’s own life and the world. It leads to a citizen agency that participates subjectively in the political process to solve community problems through the experience of conducting student-directed learning and self-governance. So the student agency is the basis for future education. In order to innovate into education based on student agency, it is necessary to fundamentally transform the teachert-centered instuctional paradigm into a student-centered instuctional paradigm and provide a structure in which students can learn subjectively. From the design of the instruction, the teacher must work with the student to decide what and how to learn. Accordingly, it is necessary to apply a learning method in which a student learns by leading his/her learning process. The student agency can be applied not only to classes, but also to school activity. Students should have an opportunity to make decisions and conduct them responsibly in learning and school activities as the subject of the school. If education based on student agency is done like this, students’ academic performance will be improved and self-efficacy and responsibility will be enhanced.
