초등학생의 프로젝트 기반 체육수업 경험 탐색

국문 초록

이 연구는 프로젝트 기반 체육수업에 참여한 초등학생들의 학습 경험을 탐색하여 교육적 의미를 살펴보고자 질적 사례연구를 수행하였다. 이를 위해 청주시의 B초등학교 4학년 학생 24명을 연구 참여자로 선정하여 2017년 6월 19일부터 7월 21일까지 6주간 ‘전통놀이와 여가’ 단원의 내용으로 ‘퓨전 놀이 한마당 열기’ 프로젝트 수업을 실시하였다. 자료의 수집은 수업 일기, 성찰 활동지, 소감문, 참여관찰, 심층면담을 통해 이루어졌다. 수집된 자료는 반복적 비교분석법을 통해 분석하였으며, 진실성 확보를 위해 삼각 검증법, 전문가 협의, 참여자 검토를 실시하였다. 학생들의 구체적인 경험을 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학생들은 교사로부터 수업의 권한을 위임받아 오롯이 스스로 답을 찾았다. 스스로 학습을 계획하고 실행해야 하는 보이지 않는 길에 대한 두려움을 극복하고 자신만의 길을 찾는 즐거움을 경험했다. 둘째, 학생들은 학습이 삶이 되고 삶이 학습이 되는 경험을 했다. 이는 학습의 공간이 학교 밖으로 확장되었으며, 학습이 학생들의 삶에 실제적인 의미가 되었음을 의미한다. 셋째, 학생들은 팀원들과의 활발한 상호작용을 통해 치열한 갈등을 극복했다. 다양한 갈등상황을 극복하면서 함께 성취하는 기쁨을 맛보게 되었고 협력하는 방법을 체득하게 되었다. 넷째, 학습 결과물을 다른 반 친구들과 공유하며 보상을 얻었고 스스로 작품을 창조한 경험으로부터 오는 높은 자존감을 형성했다. 학생들은 프로젝트 기반 체육수업에서 주도적으로 창조적인 지식을 구성하는 경험을 하며 미래사회가 요구하는 역량을 기를 수 있었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to investigate the learning experiences of elementary school students participating in project - based PE classes and to conduct a qualitative case study to find educational meaning. For this purpose, 24 students in the fourth grade of elementary school were selected and project-based PE classes were conducted for 6 weeks. The data were collected through student diaries, reflection activities, questionnaires, participation observation, and in-depth interviews. The collected data were analyzed through constant comparative analysis method and triangulation method, expert consultation, and participant review were conducted to ensure the authenticity. The results of the analysis are as follows. First, the students were given the authority of the class from the teacher and found the answer on their own. By planning and practicing learning on their own, they have had the pleasure of finding their own way out of fear of the invisible path. Second, students had experiences in which learning became life and life became learning. This means that the space of learning has expanded outside the school and that learning has become a practical meaning for students lives. Third, students have overcome fierce conflict through active interaction with team members. They have experienced the joy of accomplishment through the overcoming of various conflict situations and have learned how to cooperate. Fourth, students shared their learning outcomes with other classmates and received rewards and formed a high sense of self-esteem from the experience of creating their own work. Students were able to develop the competencies required by the future society through their experience in organizing creative knowledge in project-based PE classes.
