국문 초록

본 연구에서는 읽기 능력이 부진한 초등학생을 대상으로 뇌파 및 두뇌활용능력 진단을 통해서 뇌기반 읽기 능력 향상 프로그램을 개발하고 그에 따른 효과성을 검증하는데 그 연구의 목적이 있었다. 본 연구를 통해서 읽기 부진 학생의 읽기 기술 및 전략 향상은 물론, 읽기에 대한 긍정적인 태도 및 읽기 동기 향상 등 정의적 영역도 향상될 것으로 기대할 수 있다. 본 연구의 대상자는 D광역시 A초등학교 3학년, 4학년 중에서 학년 초 진단평가를 실시한 결과 읽기 능력이 부족한 학생으로 판명되거나 담임교사가 관찰한 결과 읽기 능력이 부진 학생 중에서 연구의 취지에 동의한 10명을 선정을 선정하였다. 본 연구는 2017년 9월 2일부터 2018년 1월 15일까지 뇌기반 읽기 능력 향상 프로그램을 개발 및 적용한 후, 뇌파 및 두뇌활용능력 검사, 읽기 태도 등의 효과성을 검증하였다. 특히, 읽기 능력 부진 학생의 읽기 능력 향상을 위한 구체적인 방안을 결론으로 제시하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 읽기 능력 부진 학생의 읽기 능력을 향상시키기 위해서는 뇌과학적인 특성을 고려한 읽기 능력 향상 프로그램을 개발 및 적용할 필요가 있다. 둘째, 읽기 능력 부진 학생의 읽기 능력 향상을 위해서는 읽기 기술 및 전략 등 인지적인 측면뿐만 아니라, 읽기 태도 및 동기 등 정의적인 측면까지도 고려할 필요가 있다. 셋째, 읽기 능력 부진 학생의 읽기 능력 향상을 위해서는 정서 상태가 안정되고 편안한 읽기 준비 상태를 만들어 줌으로써 두뇌 친화적인 읽기 환경을 만들어줄 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

The goal of this study is to verify effectiveness of Brain-based Reading ability Enhancement Program, which is developed based on the diagnose of brainwave and brain utilization capability for low-achieving elementary students in reading. Not only the improvement of reading ability and strategy, but also the affective domains including positive attitude and motivation toward reading can be expected to be improved through this study. We chose 10 grade 3-4 elementary students in D city, who agree to the purpose of this study. The purpose of this study was to develop a brain - based reading ability improvement program from September 2, 2017 to January 15, 2018, and to verify the effectiveness of Brainwave and Brain Utilization Capability test and reading attitude. The following is conclusions for the improvement of reading ability for low-achieving elementary students in reading. First, to increase reading ability of underachievers in reading, Reading Ability Enhancement Program considering neuroscience is needed to be developed and applied. Second, to increase reading ability of underachievers in reading, the affective domains such as an attitude and a motivation toward reading as well as the cognitive side such as reading ability and strategy needs to be considered. Third, to increase reading ability of underachievers in reading, brain-friendly reading environment needs to be created by providing emotional stability and comfortable prepared state for the children. The following are the recommendation of the follow-up study based on the conclusions of this study. First, The differences between brainwave and brain utilization capability need to be verified by expanding the study participants because of small number of people in the study. Second, custom counseling program and coaching for reading skill need to be developed considering the perception intensity, the recognition speed, the left and right sides of the brain activity.
