국문 초록

본 연구는 Aurora-a 검사를 통해 영재 초등학생이 3개의 ability(분석적, 창의적, 실천적)와 3개의 domain(이미지, 언어, 숫자)에 있어서 어떤 특징을 갖는지 탐색하기 위한 것으로, 일반 아동과의 비교 및 성별에 따른 차이 분석을 실시하였다. 이를 위하여 2016년 10~12월에 학교 수준 과학 및 수학 영재학급 5학년 학생 60명(남 36, 여24)과 5학년 일반 학생 60명(남 28, 여 32)에게 Aurora-a검사를 실시하였으며, 기술통계분석과 집단 간 t검증을 실시하여 영재와 일반, 남자영재와 여자영재의 차이를 중심으로 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 영재 초등학생은 ability 중 분석적, 실천적, 창의적 지능 순서로 높은 수준을 보였으며, domain에서는 숫자, 언어, 이미지 순서로 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 영재 초등학생들이 보인 3개 ability와 3개 domain의 수준은 모두 일반학생에 비해 통계적으로 유의미하게 높았으며, ability와 domain의 우선순위는 일반집단과 대칭 형태를 나타냈다. 셋째, 영재 초등학생의 남녀 간 차이를 분석한 결과 여학생이 모든 영역에서 남학생에 비해 더 높은 수준을 보였으며, ability 중 창의적 지능과 domain 중 숫자 영역에서 유의미한 차이를 나타냈다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로, Aurora-a 검사를 통해 드러난 한국 초등영재의 지적 특성과 이를 반영한 영재 판별 및 교육적 개입 방향에 대해 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the intellectual characteristics of gifted elementary school students through the use of Aurora-a test. The gifted student s level in three abilities (analytical, creative, practical) and three domains (images, words, numbers), and gender differences were compared. For this purpose, Aurora-a test was performed on 60 students (36 males and 24 females) and 60 general students (28 males and 32 females) in the fifth grade of elementary school. First, gifted elementary students showed high levels in the ability factor. The order was analytical, practical, and creative intelligence. For the domain factor, the order was number, language, and image. Second, the ability and domain factors of gifted elementary students were significantly higher compared to general students. Also, the order of these factors were symmetrical between the two student groups. Third, as a result of analyzing the gender differences of gifted elementary school students, female students showed higher level than boys in all areas. Specifically, creative intelligence for the ability factor and number intelligence in domain factor was significantly higher for girls. Based on the results of the study, the intellectual characteristics of Korean elementary gifted students revealed through the Aurora-a test and the gifted identification and educational intervention directions are discussed.
