부모와 자녀 의사소통이 청소년의 행복감에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

이 연구에서는 한국 청소년의 행복감이 특히 낮다는 점에 주목해 이들의 행복감에 미치는 요인을 확인해보고자 했다. 이를 위해 청소년의 일상생활의 영역 안에서 주요 환경적 변인인 가족과 친구, 미디어 변인이 행복감에 미치는 상대적 영향을 살펴보았다. 총 520명의 중 고등학생의 응답을 분석했다. 이 연구에서는 특히 부모와 자녀 의사소통을 1) 대화량(아버지/어머니와의 면대면 대화 VS 온라인 대화), 2) 대화내용(인성중심 VS 성공중심), 3) 대화방식(개방적 VS 폐쇄적) 등의 세 가지 측면에서 살펴보았다. 연구 결과, 남녀 학생 모두 공통적으로 학업성적과 친구관계가 좋을수록 행복감이 높았다. 그러나 여학생의 경우, 인구학적 변인에서는 경제적 형편이 정적인 영향을 미쳤고, 미디어 변인에서는 예능 드라마 시청은 정적 관련을 보였으나, 스포츠 게임 이용은 부적 관련을 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 부모와의 의사소통 변인에 있어 부모와의 개방적 대화, 성공중심의 대화와 개방적 대화방식, 성공중심의 대화와 폐쇄적 대화방식이 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 남학생의 경우, 아버지와의 면대면 대화량이 행복감에 영향을 미쳤다.

영문 초록

This study examined the relative effects of key environmental variables (family, friends and media variables) on adolescents’ feeling of happiness. In particular, this study focused on family communication and measured in three aspects: 1) how much adolescents communicate with their father and mother via face-to-face communication or online; 2) whether the parents focus on personality-oriented communication or success-oriented; 3) whether they have open communication or strict with authority. The results showed that the higher the academic achievement and the better peer relationship, the higher the happiness. However, for girls, the economic situation on the demographic variables had a statistically significant effect. Also, entertainment and drama watching showed a positively related with their happiness, on the other hand sports program and game use showed a negatively related. On family communication patterns variables with parents, it was found that open communication with parents, success-oriented open communication , success- oriented closed communication had a significant effect. In the case of boys, media use variables did not affect happiness. Especially, face-to-face communication with a father had the greatest effect on boys’ happiness.
