생태공감 프로그램이 초등학교 학생들의 공감 관점에 미치는 효과

국문 초록

목적 본 연구에서는 생태공감 프로그램이 학생들의 생태주의 관점, 종 중심 관점, 가족 중심 관점의 변화에 미치는 효과를 알아보고자 하였다. 방법 이를 위하여 대구광역시 소재 초등학교 3학년부터 5학년까지의 학생 총 209명을 대상으로 하였으며, 실험반은 3학년 1개반을 선정하고, 통제반은 3학년부터 5학년을 선정하여 비교하였다. 이 연구에서 개발한 프로그램은 총 8차시로, 과학적 지식, 체험, 도덕적 판단을 통한 공감 형성의 과정으로 구성하였다. 설문의 사전 사후 응답은 생태주의 관점, 종중심 관점, 가족중심 관점으로 분류하였고, 교육적 효과를 알아보기 위하여 McNemar 검정을 실시하였다. 결과 통제반 학생들은 학년과 상관없이 교육과정 및 성숙에 의해 생태주의 관점으로 변화하지는 않는 것으로 나타났다. 이 연구에서 개발한 프로그램을 학습한 실험반 학생들의 경우, 통계적으로 유의미한 변화가 관찰된 영역은 늑대가 마을 사람들을 해치는 상황, 그리고 모기와 독사 같은 해충이 생태계에 존재해야 하는 이유에 대한 공감이었다. 그러나 가족의 피해 상황에서는 생태주의 관점의 공감을 형성하는데 어려움이 나타났다. 결론 본 연구의 제안을 바탕으로 초등학생들에게 생태주의 관점을 형성하고 심화할 수 있는 기회를 제공하도록 생태공감 프로그램을 개발하고 제공할 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study aimed to find out the effect of the ecological empathy program that affects the perspective of ecology. Methods For this study, a total of 209 students from the 3rd to 5th grade of elementary school were selected. The experimental group was set as one class of the 3rd grade, and compared with the control group of the 3rd to 5th grade. The program developed in this study consisted of a total of eight sessions, and consisted of the process of forming empathy through scientific knowledge, experience, and moral judgment. The pre- and post-test were classified into ecological perspective, species-oriented perspective, and family-oriented perspective. The McNemar test was conducted to find out the educational effect. Results As a result of the study, it was found that the students in the control class did not naturally change to the ecological perspective by maturation regardless of the grade. In the case of the experimental class students who studied the program developed in this study, the areas where statistically significant changes were observed were empathy for the situation in which wolves harm villagers and why pests such as mosquitoes and poisonous snakes must exist in the ecosystem. However, it was difficult for students to form an ecological perspective due to difficulties in empathizing in the situation of family damage. In addition, it was confirmed that it is difficult for elementary school students to develop an ecological perspective only with the contents of the ecosystem-related unit of the science curriculum presented in the 5th grade. Conclusions Therefore, based on the proposal of this study, it is necessary to develop an ecological empathy program to provide elementary school students with opportunities to form and deepen their ecological perspectives.
