잠재전이분석을 활용한 아동의 미디어 활용 유형 전이 양상 및 영향 요인 분석

국문 초록

목적 이 연구는 아동의 미디어 활용에 대한 잠재프로파일 전이 양상을 탐색하고 이에 영향을 미치는 영향 요인들을 분석하기 위해 수행되었다. 방법 이를 위해 한국아동패널 12차·13년도 초등학생 데이터(1,171명)를 대상으로 미디어 활용 유형에 대한 잠재전이분석(Latent transition analysis, LTA)을 수행하고, 흥미로운 전이 양상을 보이는 집단을 대상으로 로지스틱 회귀분석을 실시하여 전이에 영향을 미치는 영향 요인을 탐색하였다. 결과 잠재전이분석 결과, 5학년 프로파일은 ‘오락·소통 고사용형’(57.9%), ‘전반적 저사용형’(29.3%), ‘전반적 고사용형’(12.8%)으로, 6학년은 ‘오락·소통 고사용형’(48.4%), ‘전반적 저사용형’(22.3%), ‘전반적 고사용형’(29.3%)으로 분류되었다. ANOVA 분석 결과, 전반적 고사용형은 오락·소통 고사용형에 비해 국어 성취도가 유의하게 높았다. 해당 전이 유형(오락·소통 고사용형→전반적 고사용형)에 대한 로지스틱 회귀분석 결과, 성별, 컴퓨터 사용능력, 끈기, 부모의 학습참여, 지역사회 문화시설 접근 편리성이 전이에 정적으로 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 결론 이 연구의 결과는 아동의 긍정적인 미디어 활용을 촉진하기 위해 부모 교육 및 지역사회 지원이 필요함을 시사한다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to explore the transition patterns and influential factors of children's media use. Methods Latent transition analysis (LTA) was conducted for children in elementary schools (1,171 students) who responded to the 12th and 13th of the Panel Study on Korean Children. Results The profiles of fifth graders were divided into three categories: “overall low use type” (29.3%), “overall high use type” (12.8%), and “entertainment/communication high use type” (57.9%). Similarly, profiles of sixth graders were divided into three categories: “overall low use type” (22.3%), “overall high use type” (29.3%), and “entertainment/communication high use type” (48.4%). According to the results of ANOVA, the overall high use type showed significantly higher achievement than the entertainment/communication high use type in Korean subject. The results of logistic regression analysis with a focus on the transition from the entertainment/communication high use type to the overall high use type revealed that gender, computer use ability, GRIT, parental participation in education, and ease of access to social and cultural facilities had a significant positive effect. Conclusions These findings suggest that parental education and community support are required for encouraging children's constructive media use.
