아동기 부정적 경험과 결혼만족도의 관계에서 역기능적 의사소통 방식의 매개효과

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 아동기 부정적 경험(ACEs)과 결혼만족도의 관계에서 역기능적 의사소통 방식의 매개효과를 검증하는 것이다. 방법 이를 위해 현재 결혼생활을 하고 있는 만 20세 ̴69세의 기혼자 235명을 대상으로 설문을 실시하여 221부를 최종 통계분석에 사용하였다. 수집한 자료에 대해서는 SPSS 23.0 통계 프로그램을 이용하여 각 변인들의 기술 통계, 신뢰도 분석, ANOVA와 상관관계 분석을 실시하였고, 통제변인의 영향력을 검증하기 위해 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 또한 매개효과를 분석하기 위해 Process Macro v4.0 Model 4를 사용하였다. 결과 아동기 부정적 경험과 역기능적 의사소통 방식은 결혼만족도에 직접적인 영향을 미치며, 아동기 부정적 경험과 결혼만족도 사이에서 역기능적 의사소통 방식은 완전매개 하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 역기능적 의사소통 방식의 하위 요인 중에서 비난, 경멸, 담쌓기는 아동기 부정적 경험과 결혼만족도 사이를 완전매개하였으며, 방어는 부분매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 결론 본 연구의 결과는 아동기 부정적 경험이 결혼만족도를 직접적으로 예측한다기보다 아동기에 부정적 경험을 한 사람들 가운데 역기능적 의사소통 방식을 많이 사용하는 사람들이 결혼만족도를 낮게 지각하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 부부치료 상담 현장에서 결혼만족도 향상을 위한 치료적 개입을 할 때, 부부의 원가족에서의 아동기 부정적 경험 여부를 살펴보는 것도 필요하며, 부부가 갈등 상황에서 비난, 방어, 경멸, 담쌓기의 역기능적 의사소통을 하는지 여부와 그 원인 및 대안에 초점을 맞추고 개입 전략을 수립하는 것이 더 효과적일 수 있음을 시사한다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to verify the mediating effects of dysfunctional communication patterns on the relationship between adverse childhood experiences(ACEs) and marital satisfaction. Methods To this end, a survey was conducted on 235 people aged 20 to 69 who are currently married, and 221 data were used for the final statistical analysis. For the collected data, descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, ANOVA and correlation analysis were performed using the SPSS 23.0 statistical program, and hierarchical regression analysis was performed to verify the influence of control variables. Also, Process Macro v4.0 Model 4 was used to analyze the mediating effects. Results It was found that adverse childhood experiences and dysfunctional communication patterns directly affect marital satisfaction, and dysfunctional communication patterns completely mediate between adverse childhood experiences and marital satisfaction. In addition, among the sub-variables of the dysfunctional communication patterns, criticism, contempt, and stonewalling completely mediated between adverse childhood experiences and marital satisfaction, and defensiveness partially mediated. Conclusions The results of this study showed that rather than directly predicting marital satisfaction through adverse childhood experiences, those who used a lot of dysfunctional communication patterns among those who had adverse experiences in childhood perceived marital satisfaction as low. Therefore, in the therapeutic intervention to improve marital satisfaction in the couple therapy counseling field, it may be more effective to examine whether the couple had adverse childhood experiences in their original family and whether the couple engage in dysfunctional communication patterns of criticism, defensiveness, contempt, and stonewalling in conflict situations, and focus on causes and alternatives.
