국문 초록

목적 본 연구의 목적은 어머니의 부모감독과 아동의 미디어기기 중독 간의 관계에서 부모애착의 조절 효과를 확인하는 것이다. 방법 본 연구는 한국아동패널 12차년도 자료(N=948)를 분석하여 어머니의 부모감독, 부모애착과 아동의 미디어기기 중독의 관계를 살펴보기 위하여 Pearson 상관분석을 실시하였고, 어머니의 부모감독과 아동의 미디어기기 중독 간의 관계에서 부모애착 조절 효과를 검증하기 위하여 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 결과 첫째, 어머니의 부모감독 수준은 평균 4.68(SD=.54)로 비교적 높은 수준으로 나타났다. 부모애착 전체 수준은 평균 3.84(SD= .56)로 보통 수준이며, 아동의 미디어기기 중독 전체 수준은 평균은 1.70(SD=.45)으로 비교적 낮은 수준으로 나타났다. 둘째, 어머니의 부모감독과 자녀가 지각하는 부모애착, 자녀의 미디어기기 중독 간에는 전체적으로 부적 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 어머니의 부모감독은 자녀의 미디어기기 중독에 부(-)적 영향을 미치며 이들의 관계에 부모 애착의 조절 효과가 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 부모애착이 낮은 집단이 어머니의 부모감독이 아동의 미디어기기 중독을 낮추는 영향을 둔화시켜 결과적으로 미디어기기 중독의 가능성이 높음을 시사한다. 결론 본 연구는 부모애착이 높고 부모를 신뢰하는 아동일수록 어머니 부모감독이 효과적이고 미디어기기 중독 경향성이 낮아지는 것을 입증하였다. 본 연구결과는 미디어 노출이 많은 초등아동의 미디어기기 중독 문제를 예방하기 위한 방안으로서 건강한 가족 환경과 자녀와 부모 간 애착관계의 중요성을 규명하였다는 점에서 연구의 의의를 지닌다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study was to examine the moderating effects of parental attachment on the relationships between mothers’ parental monitoring and children’s media device addiction among 11-year old children. Methods In this study, Pearson correlation analysis was performed to examine the relationship between mother’s parental monitoring and parental attachment and children’s media device addiction by analyzing data from the 12th year of the Korean Children’s Panel(N=948). A hierarchical regression analysis was performed to verify the effect of controlling parental attachment on the relationship between addiction to media devices. Results First, the average level of mothers’ parental monitoring was high with a rating of 4.68(SD=.54), the average level of parental attachment was middle with a rating of 3.84(SD=.56), and the average level of children’s media device addition was low with a rating of 1.70(SD=.45). Second, it was found that there was an overall negative correlation between mothers’ parental monitoring, adolescent’s attachment with parent and children’s media device addiction. Third, mothers’ parental monitoring had a negative(-) effect on children’s media device addiction, and it was found that the moderating effect of parental attachment was significant on their relationship. In other words, the group with low parental attachment slowed down the influence of mothers’ parental monitoring to lower children’s media device addiction, as a result, it suggests that the possibility of media device addiction is high. Conclusions The purpose of this study was to prove that children with higher parental attachment and trusting their parents that mothers’ parental monitoring was effective and the tendency to addicted to media devices was lowered. The results of this study are meaningful in investigating the importance of a healthy family environment and the attachment relationship between children and parents as a way to prevent media device addiction in elementary school children who are exposed to a lot of media.
