국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 자유학기제 도입기와 확대기의 중학생 코호트(cohort) 간 진로활동 참여와 진로성숙도를 비교함으로써 자유학기제를 통한 변화를 확인하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 방법 본 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 한국청소년정책연구원에서 실시한 한국아동⋅청소년 데이터 아카이브의 횡단조사 중 ‘청소년활동 참여 실태조사 연구’의 2016년과 2018년 데이터를 활용하여 진로탐색 및 직업체험활동, 진로성숙도를 중심으로 분석하였다. 결과 본 연구의 결과, 첫째, 2016년⋅2018년 중학생 코호트에 따른 진로탐색 및 직업체험활동의 차이를 살펴본 결과, 청소년모의창업활동, 직업현장체험활동, 기타 활동은 코호트 간 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 경제캠프활동과 진로탐색활동은 유의미한 차이가 나타나지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 2016년과 2018년 코호트에 따른 진로성숙도의 평균 차이를 분석한 결과, 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 결론 본 연구에서 자유학기제 도입 후 청소년 진로 참여 활동과 진로성숙도의 변화를 확인하고 앞으로의 진로 활동과 관련된 자유학기제 운영의 시사점을 도출하였다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study was to confirm the change of the free semester system by comparing career activity participation and career maturity between the cohort of middle school students in the introductory period and expanding period of the free semester program. Methods In this study, the experience and maturity of career experience were to be confirmed with a two-year time difference. It was analyzed based on career exploration, job experience activities, and career maturity using the 2016 and 2018 data of the Korean Children and Youth Data Archive conducted by the Korea Youth Policy Institute. Results As a result of this study, first, the differences in career exploration and job experience activities according to the cohort of middle school students in 2016 and 2018, and found that there were significant differences between youth start-up activities, job field experience activities, and other activities. Economic camp activities and career exploration activities showed no significant differences. Secondly, the analysis of the average difference in career maturity according to the 2016 and 2018 cohorts showed a significant difference. Conclusions This study identified changes in youth career participation activities and career maturity after the introductory period of the free semester program, and derived implications for the operation of the free semester program related to future career activities
