한⋅중 가짜 동족어가 한국어 어휘 습득에 미치는 영향 연구

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 한국어 한자어에 대한 연구로서 중국인 학습자의 모국어 지식 중 동족어(cognate)에 대한 지식이 제2언어 학습에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고자 하였다. 본 연구는 제2언어 어휘 학습에서 형태적, 의미적 유사성을 가진 동족어는 학습의 용이성을 설명할 수 있다는 전제 하에 진행되었다. 따라서 본 연구는 동족어를 파악하는 것이 학습의 용이성을 유도할 수 있다고 보아 한자어 습득과정에서 한국어 어휘 학습에 중요한 변수로 작용하는 동족어의 효과를 살펴보자고 한다. 방법 본 연구는 중⋅고급 중국인 학습자 총 20명을 연구대상으로 한중 가짜 동족어 유형에 따른 인식조사 및 사용 능력 테스트를 실시하였다. 그들이 산출한 자료를 바탕으로 한중 가짜 동족어에 대해 등급별, 유형별 인식 양상 및 학습 효과를 알아보고자 하였다. 결과 중국인 학습자들이 유형별 한자어 인식에 대한 분석 결과 유형5인 부분적 가짜 동족어와 유형 6인 완전 가짜 동족어는 한자어로 인식하는 데 어려움을 더 많이 겪는다. 산출된 한자어 사용 능력 테스트 결과를 보면 그들이 부분적 가짜 동족어 유형보다 완전 가짜 동족어를 습득하는 데 더 어려웠다. 결론 이러한 결과는 앞서 Beltran(2006)에서 논의한 유형별 어려움 정도와 달리 중국인 학습자가 한중 완전 가짜 동족어를 습득할 때 겪는 어려움이 더 강하다는 것을 알 수 있다. 이는 한중 발음의 유사성도 한중 가짜 동족어 학습의 어려움을 판단하는 요소로 사용할 수 있다.

영문 초록

Objectives As a study of Sino-Korean, it aims to explore how the knowledge of cognate in Chinese learners mother tongue knowledge affects their second language learning. In the second language vocabulary learning, Korean-Chinese cognates have morphological and semantic similarity. On the premise of explaining the ease of learning, this study regards cognate as the acquisition problem of ease of learning, which plays an important role in Korean vocabulary learning. Methods This study aims to prove the difficulty of learning according to the type of Korean-Chinese false cognates as a study target of intermediate and advanced Chinese learners. Therefore, a total of 20 Chinese Korean learners as the experimental subjects to conduct a questionnaire survey and usage ability test. Based on the data, investigated the recognition situation and learning effects by grade and type for Korean-Chinese false cognates. Results As a result of the analysis on the recognition of Sino-Korean by type, type 5 and type 6 false cognates were more difficult for recognizing. According to the Sino-Korean usage ability test results, it was more difficult for them to acquire complete false cognates than the partially false cognate types. Conclusions These results show that, unlike the degree of difficulty by type discussed earlier in Beltran(2006), the difficulty experienced by Chinese learners when acquiring a completely false cognates is stronger. The similarity of Korean-Chinese pronunciation can also be used as a factor in judging the difficulty of learning Korean-Chinese false cognates.
