환자안전사고 사례 기반 교육이 간호대학생의 시스템적 사고능력에 미치는 효과

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 환자안전사고 사례 기반의 팀 토의 교육 프로그램을 적용하여 간호대학생들의 시스템적 사고능력 향상에 미치는 효과를 알아보기 위함이다. 방법 단일군 사전 사후 반복측정 유사 실험연구 설계를 적용하였다. 간호학과 4학년 학생 34명을 대상으로 환자안전사고사건 사례에 대하여 사건의 원인을 분석하고 개선방법을 찾아나가는 팀 토의 형식의 교육 프로그램을 제공하였다. 교육 프로그램의 효과 검증을 위하여 교육중재 전과 교육중재 1개월 후, 그리고 6개월 후에 시스템적 사고능력을 측정하여 통계적 유의성을 비교하였다. 결과 교육 프로그램 적용 1개월 후와 6개월 후에 측정한 시스템적 사고능력 점수는 교육 중재 전 측정한 점수와 비교하였을 때 유의하게 높아졌음이 확인되었다. 따라서 환자안전사고 사례를 기반으로 한 팀 토의 교육 프로그램은 간호대학생의 시스템적 사고능력 향상에 효과가 있음을 확인하였으며, 중재 6개월 후에도 효과가 지속됨을 확인하였다. 결론 본 연구결과는 간호대학생의 시스템적 사고능력을 향상시키기 위한 교육 방법을 마련하는 데 기초자료를 제공할 것이며, 나아가 간호사의 시스템적 사고능력 향상에 기여하여 궁극적으로 환자안전사고 예방에 이바지할 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purposes of this study were to implement patient safety incident analysis education program with team discussion and identify the effectiveness of the program on improving system thinking competency for nursing students. Methods This study adapted a single group pre and post repeated test, a quasi-experimental design. A total of 34 nursing students from a nursing college participated in the study. The participants were given the demonstration of patient safety incidents analysis step and were divided into small groups. They conducted patient safety incidents analysis and correct action plan with team members. To identify the effectiveness of the education program, system thinking competency was measured at before, a month and six months after the educational intervention. Results The mean scores of system thinking competency measured at a month and six months after the education were significantly improved comparing to baseline. Therefore, it was identified that the patient safety incidents analysis education program based on team discussion was effective in improving the system thinking competency of nursing students. In addition, the result of this study revealed that the effectiveness persisted even after 6 months of the education. Conclusions The results of this study could provide a fundamental data for educational strategy to improve the system thinking competency of nursing students. Further, this study would contribute to the improvement of the system thinking competency and patient safety culture of nurses and also the prevention of patient safety incidents.
