정서표현양가성이 대인관계능력에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 정서표현양가성의 하위 요인에 따라 대인관계능력에 미치는 영향에 차이가 있는지 살펴보았다. 또한, 정서표현양가성의 두 하위 요인인 자기방어적 양가성과 관계관여적 양가성이 대인관계능력에 미치는 영향에서 적극적 대처가 매개 역할을 하는지 알아보았다. 방법 이를 위하여 서울, 경기도 소재 대학생 413명을 대상으로 2018년 9월 3일부터 10월 15일까지 오프라인 설문 조사를 실시하였고 수집된 자료를 바탕으로 구조방정식 모형 분석을 실시하였다. 결과 연구 결과, 자기방어적 양가성은 직접적으로 낮은 수준의 대인관계능력에 영향을 미칠 뿐 아니라 적극적 대처를 매개하여 대인관계능력에 간접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 관계관여적 양가성은 직접적으로 높은 수준의 대인관계능력에 영향을 미치며 적극적 대처를 매개하여 대인관계능력에 간접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 결론 본 연구의 결과는 정서표현양가성이 대인관계능력과의 관계에 있어서 동기적 속성에 따라 기능 차가 있으며 정서표현양가성이 대인관계능력에 영향을 미치는 과정에서 적극적 대처의 역할이 중요함을 시사한다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 본 연구의 제한점과 상담에 대한 시사점, 추후 연구 방향에 대해 언급하였다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study was to examine the causal relationship among two factors of ambivalence over emotional expressiveness on interpersonal relationship ability. Moreover, we investigated whether the positive coping mediated the influences between self-defensive ambivalence and interpersonal relationship ability as well as relationship-involved ambivalence and interpersonal relationship ability. Methods A total 413 university students participated in the survey from September 3 to October 15, 2018 and structural-equation modeling analysis was conducted. Results Structural-equation modeling analysis proved that self-defensive ambivalence affected directly associated to low levels of interpersonal relationship ability and affected indirectly to decreased interpersonal relationship ability through decreased positive coping. In contrast, relationship-involved ambivalence affected directly to high levels of interpersonal relationship ability, but affected indirectly to increased interpersonal relationship ability via increased positive coping. Conclusions The implication in this result was that self-defensive ambivalence could decrease interpersonal relationship ability yet relationship-involved ambivalence is associated with increased interpersonal relationship ability. Based on these results, the implications for counseling, limitations of the study, and suggestions for future research were discussed.
