신체활동에서 더닝-크루거 현상은 존재하는가

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 다양한 인지활동에서 광범위하게 확인되는 역량착각 현상이 신체활동에서 관찰되는가를 확인하고 스포츠교육학에서의 시사점을 논의하는 데 있다. 방법 이를 위하여 인천시 소재 중학교 학생 30명을 사전 조사된 운동능력에 따라 두 집단으로 구성하고 3 종목(농구 골밑 슛, 버피-테스트, 10M 드리블)에 대한 자기 예상점수와 실측 점수간의 차이를 확인하였다. 결과 두 집단 모두에서 측정 종목에 대한 역량착각 현상이 관찰되었으며 운동능력 ‘상’ 집단은 3종목 모두에서 예상 점수와 실제점수간의 통계적 유의차가 있었다. 운동능력 ‘하’로 구성된 집단은 2종목에서 통계적으로 유의한 점수 차이가 있었다. 결론 인지심리학적 관점에서 신체활동 역시 다른 교과와 동일한 인지적 메커니즘이 관여하고 있을 가능성이 있다. 또한, 학교체육을 비롯한 신체활동 교육에서 개인의 역량착각을 고려한 교수방법의 개발이 필요하며 이후 광범위한 관련 조사 및 논의를 통해 관련 정보를 축적해야 한다.

영문 초록

Objectives purpose of this study is to confirm whether the illusion of competence, which is widely confirmed in various cognitive activities, is observed in physical activity, and to discuss the implications of sports education. Methods For this purpose, 30 middle school students located in Incheon were divided into two groups according to the pre-examined athletic ability, and the difference between the self-estimated score and the actual score for 3 events (basketball under goal shot, burpee test, and 10M dribbling) was checked. Results in both groups, there was a statistically significant difference between the expected score and the actual score in all three sports in the ‘high’ group of athletic ability. There was a statistically significant difference in scores between the two sports in the group consisting of ‘low’ exercise ability. Conclusions From a cognitive psychology point of view, there is a possibility that the same cognitive mechanisms are involved in physical activity as in other subjects. In addition, it is necessary to develop a teaching method that takes into account the individual s illusion of competence in physical activity education including school sports, and then, related information should be accumulated through extensive research and discussion.
