명상을 적용한 암 환자 영적 돌봄 단일 사례에 대한 해석현상학적 분석연구

국문 초록

목적 연구의 목적은 암 환자의 투병과정 중 영적 돌봄가의 돌봄으로 인해 환자가 자신의 병의 경험으로 삶의 의미를 해석하고 그것을 어떻게 받아들이는지를 살펴보는 것이다. 이를 통해 환자-돌봄가의 관계정립과 영적돌봄의 본질을 고찰하고자 한다. 방법 환자와 영적돌봄가(연구자)의 1:1 심층인터뷰를 자료로 하여 개별성을 중시하는 질적연구방법인 해석현상학적분석(Interpretative Phenomenologocal Analysis: IPA)을 한다. 환자의 느낌과 명상체험 내용 중 핵심어휘를 분석하고 목록화하여 생성된 상위 주제와 하위 주제로 분류한다. 결과 환자는 돌봄가와 신뢰가 형성되어 가면서 억압된 감정과 부정적 정서가 긍정적 수용으로 바뀌어 감을 드러내고 있다. 영적 돌봄가의 도움으로 기도와 명상을 연습하여 환자 스스로 돌봄을 할 수 있게 되었다. 결론 환자는 투병과정의 고립과 고통이 돌봄가로 인해 완화되며 영적성장이 일어났다. 향후 환자 돌봄에서 교육받은 영적 돌봄가와의 연결로 환자의 심신 이완과 치유에 도움이 되도록 해야 한다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to investigate how the patient reflect and accept the meaning of their life through their own disease experience under the care of a spiritual caregiver during the disease-fighting process. This study also focuses on the review of the relationship establishment between the patient and the caregiver and the essence of spiritual care. Methods Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA), one of qualitative research method that emphasizes the individuality is performed to analyze 1 on 1 in-depth interviews between patient and spiritual caregiver (researcher). Results As the patient builds trust with caregiver, their suppressed emotions and negative emotions changed into positive acceptance. The patient was able to take care herself by practicing prayer and meditation with the help of a spiritual caregiver. Conclusions The patient’s isolation and pain in the disease fighting processes are alleviated by caregiver and the patient shows spiritual growth. In future, the connection with educated spiritual caregivers to patients should help the patient’s mind and body relax and heal.
