컴퓨터 지원 협력학습에서 담화분석을 통한 협력과정 특징 분석

국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 컴퓨터 지원 협력 학습 환경에서 과제 수행결과가 높은 집단과 낮은 집단 참여자들의 협력 과정을 분석하여 특징을 파악하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 서울 A초등학교 5학년 과학수업에 참여한 16개 팀의 수행 결과를 평가하여 상위 3팀과 하위 3팀의 협력과정 데이터를 수집하였다. 학습환경은 구글 드라이브를 활용해 개발하였으며, CORDTRA 분석으로 각 팀의 담화, 담화의 패턴, 사용 된 도구를 조사하여 협력 과정을 분석하였다. 분석 결과 상위집단과 하위집단은 학습자 간 담화의 내용과 양, 보고서 작성 방식에서 차이를 보였다. 첫째, ‘인지적’ ‘초인지적’ 대화의 양은 상위집단과 하위집단의 차이가 없었으나, 하위집단은 ‘주제비관련’ ‘언어유희’ 대화의 양이 상대적으로 많았다. 둘째, 상위집단은 학습환경 내 의사소통 도구(채팅, 댓글 등)를 활용한 공동 가설설정 및 동의 등 협력적으로 보고서를 작성하는 시간이 많았다. 이에 비해 하위집단은 의견수렴과정을 거치기보다 빠른 협의 후 소수의 학생 중심으로 보고서를 작성하였다. 도출된 결과는 효과적인 컴퓨터 지원 협력학습을 위한 학습 과정 분석 방법과 학습 지원도구 설계, 그리고 교사의 역할 및 지원 전략에 시사점을 준다.

영문 초록

The objective of this study is to analyze the collaboration processes of groups consisting of both high and low task performers in a computer-supported collaborative learning environment and identify features of such processes. To achieve the research objective, this study evaluated the performance results of 16 teams that participated in a fifth-grade science class at an A elementary school in a metropolitan city, and collected data on the learning process from top-three and bottom-three teams. The learning environment was developed using Google Drive, and the CORDTRA analysis was employed in analyzing the collaboration process through the examination of each team s discourse, discourse patterns, and tools used. The analysis showed that the high-performing and low-performing groups differed in the content and amount of discourse among the learners and the way reports were written. First, there was no difference between the high-performing and low-performing groups in the amount of “cognitive” and “meta-cognitive” conversations, but the low-performing groups had relatively large amounts of “off subject” and “word play” conversations. Second, the high-performing groups spent much time to write reports in collaboration, such as establishing joint hypotheses and reaching a consensus using communication tools (chats, comments, etc.) available in the learning environment. On the other hand, the low-performing groups went through quick discussions and chose to produce reports through a small number of students rather than going through the process of collecting opinions from all members. Consequently, the findings suggest implications for learning process analysis methods and designing tools to support for effective computer-supported collaborative learning, as well as for roles of teachers and support strategies.
