근대 파도바 대학의 학문적 성공요인과 의학부 교육과정에 대한 분석

국문 초록

파도바 대학의 의학부는 근대 의학의 태동과 변혁을 선도했던 곳으로 근대 유럽에서 가장 손꼽히는 의학의 중심지였다. 대학의 교육과정은 당대의 학문적 특징과 토대 및 발전 양상을 반영하고 설명할 수 있다는 점에서 매우 중요한 의미를 지님에도 불구하고, 그동안 파도바 대학의 교육과정은 연구의 대상으로 크게 주목받지 못했다. 본 연구에서는 근대 파도바 대학의 성공 원인과 혁신 사례를 검토한 후 파도바 대학의 의학부 교육과정을 분석했다. 파도바 대학은 아리스토텔레스주의의 중심지로서 학문의 자유가 상당히 보장되는 곳이었기 때문에 새로운 학문이 분기되고 이에 따라 연쇄적으로 새로운 지식이 누적될 수 있었다. 이 과정에서 서로 다른 학문 분야의 소통과 협업이 구조화되었고 의학부 교육과정의 틀 속에서 제도적으로 반영되었다. 이렇게 편성된 교육과정은 다시 의학부 발전의 중요한 추동력을 제공했다. 이런 점은 오늘날 의과대학의 교육과정 구성과 의미에 대한 통찰을 제공할 것이다.

영문 초록

As one of the best research centers in Europe, the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Padua produced innovations and advances in modern medicine. The medical curriculum in history is very important, because it explains academic characteristics and developments of the time, yet the topic has not received sufficient attention as a research subject. Therefore, this study examines the success factors of innovation at the University of Padua and analyzes the curriculum of the Faculty of Medicine in the modern age. Created by securing academic freedom, it enabled new academic disciplines to diverge and subsequently accumulate new knowledge. In consequence, the University of Padua. Communication and collaboration through an interdisciplinary approach was reflected institutionally in the medical curriculum framework. This organized curriculum provided the driving force for the historical development of medicine. This research should provide valuable insight into the significant implications of today’s medical curriculum.
