예비유아교사의 융합적 사고 증진을 위한 전래동요 활용 가능성 탐색

국문 초록

본 연구는 예비유아교사의 융합적 사고 함양과 융합교육 능력을 배양하는데 목적을 두고, 전래동요의 활용 가능성을 탐색한 것이다. 연구에 참여한 학생은 유아음악수업을 듣는 2학년 학생들로 총 10인이며 조별활동을 위해 5명씩 2조로 구성하였다. 활동에 사용할 전래동요는 “꼬방꼬방”과 “실꾸리” 2곡으로 학습자의 참여도를 높이기 위해 조별 토의를 통해 선정하도록 하였다. 활동은 유아음악교과목 시간 중 일부를 할애하여 총 4차시를 진행하였으며 개별 차시 당 1시간-1시간 30분 정도 소요되었다. 활동내용은 다음과 같다. 1차시에서는 음악과 수학, 과학, 문학 등이 융합된 예들을 제시하며 융합에 대한 이해와 흥미를 도모하였다. 2차시와 3차시에서는 학습자가 선택한 전래 동요에 내재되어 있는 융합 요소를 각각 분리하여 설명하였다. 4차시에서는 학습자 스스로 새로운 전래동요를 선택하고 분석한 후 융합적 활용방안을 제시하도록 하였다. 학습자들이 최종적으로 제시한 여러 의견들 중 가장 많은 호응을 얻은 아이디어는, 전래동요 노랫말에 따른 다양한 사진 자료를 모아서 전통사회와 현대사회를 비교할 수 있는 짧은 영화를 만든 후 유아전통문화교육에 활용하고 싶다는 내용이었다. 활동 후 학습자들은, ‘전래동요는 노래와 놀이가 전부인 줄 알았는데 문화에 대해 이해할 수 있어서 좋았다.’, ‘전래동요를 다양한 시각으로 접근할 수 있어서 좋았다.’, ‘융합에 대해 어렴풋이 이해할 수 있게 된 것 같다,’는 등의 소감을 밝혔다. 이상과 같은 활동과정과 결과를 통해 예비유아교사의 융합적 사고 증진에 있어 전래동요의 활용 가능성을 엿볼 수 있었다. 따라서 후속연구를 통해 좀 더 다양한 활용방안 모색과 함께 융합요소에 따른 전문가와의 코티칭을 실시해 보고자 한다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to explore the applicability of traditional children’s songs to cultivate the convergent thinking and convergent education ability of pre-service early childhood teachers. The research participants were ten second-year students taking an early childhood music class. They were divided into two groups of five members each for group activities. Two songs, namely “Kkobang” and “Silkuri” were the traditional children’s songs used in the activities. To increase the learners’ participation, they were asked to select a song through group discussion. Spending some time in the early childhood music class, four sessions of activities were conducted, and each session took around one to about one and a half hours. The activities were as follows. The first session promoted the understanding of and interest in convergence by presenting the converged cases of music, mathematics, science, and literature. The second and third sessions separately explained the elements of convergence inherent in the traditional children’s songs selected by the learners. In the fourth session, the l earners were a sked t o select a nd a nalyze a n ew t raditional children’s song for themselves, and then to present the convergent measures for utilization. Among many opinions finally presented by the learners, the idea that received the biggest response was about creating a short film that could compare the traditional society and modern society by collecting various photos according to the lyrics of the traditional children’s song, and then utilizing it for the traditional cultural education of young children. After activities, the learners expressed their thoughts and feelings by saying “I simply thought that the traditional children’s songs were all about songs and plays. It was great to be able to understand the culture”; “It was great to approach the traditional children’s songs from various perspectives”; and “I could vaguely understand the convergence.” Through the activities and results above, this study examined the applicability of traditional children’s songs in enhancing convergent thinking in pre-service early childhood teachers. Thus, a follow-up study aims to seek for more utilization measures and to perform co-teaching with an expert according to the elements of convergence.
