국문 초록

본 연구는 만 1, 2세 영아를 대상으로 영아의 디지털 영상매체 이용시간 및 가정의 문해환경 수준에 따른 영아 언어발달의 차이를 살펴보고자 하였다. 연구 대상은 전국의 만 1, 2세 영아 409명과 그들의 어머니였으며 디지털 영상매체 이용현황, 가정문해환경, 영아의 언어발달 검사지로 구성된 질문지를 수집하였다. 수집된 자료는 연구문제에 따라 평균과 표준편차, 빈도와 백분율을 산출하고 t 검증, 일원변량분석, 상관관계분석, 이원분산분석을 통해 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 첫째, 측정 변인의 특성에 따라 디지털 영상매체 이용시간의 차이가 있었다. 둘째, 디지털 영상매체의 이용시간과 가정문해환경 수준에 따른 영아의 언어발달의 차이를 살펴본 결과 만 1세의 경우 디지털 영상매체를 적게 이용한 집단이 많이 이용한 집단에 비해 언어점수가 유의하게 높았으며, 디지털 영상매체 이용시간이 같은 집단에서 가정문해환경 수준이 높을수록 언어점수가 높게 나타났다. 만 2세의 경우는 디지털 영상매체의 이용시간과 가정문해환경 수준이 언어발달에 있어서 상호작용 효과가 나타났다. 가정문해환경이 가장 낮은 수준 집단은 디지털 영상매체를 적게 이용한 집단보다 더 많이 이용한 집단의 언어점수가 더 높았으나 가정문해환경 수준이 중, 상집단에서는 디지털 영상매체를 더 많이 이용한 집단의 언어점수가 낮아졌다. 결론적으로, 영아의 디지털 영상매체 이용시간 및 가정문해환경에 따라 영아의 언어발달에 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine differences in toddler language development according to the digital media usage time of toddlers and the home literacy environment level for one- and two-year-old toddlers. In this study, 409 toddlers aged one and two years and their parents in South Korea are the subjects of the research. The collected data were analyzed via t-validation, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), and two-way ANOVA by calculating the mean and standard deviation, and the frequency and cumulative percentage of the total number of occurrences according to the research questions. Conclusions from these results are First, based on differences in the digital media usage time according to characteristics of measurement variables, the higher the father’s educational background and the monthly income of the family, and the smaller the number of digital media accessible to toddlers, the less time the infant spent on the digital media. Second, as a result of examining the differences between the language development of toddlers depending on the digital media usage time and the level of the home literacy environment, the significantly higher language score was shown in those who used less digital media. In addition, in the group that used the same digital media usage time, the higher the level of the home literacy environment, the higher the language score. In the case of 2-year-old toddlers, an interaction effect in language development was revealed related to digital video usage time and the level of home literacy environment. The group belonging to the lowest home literacy environment showed a higher language score for the group that used more than the group that used less digital media. However, in groups with medium or upper levels of the home literacy environment, the language score of groups using more digital media was lowered.
