통찰 개념에 내재된 논리적 문제 및 관련 문제 고찰

국문 초록

본 연구는 통찰의 발현 기제를 밝히기 위하여 수행된 이론적 혹은 경험적 연구에 내재된 논리적 문제점을 검토함으로써 궁극적으로 창의적인 문제 해결 과정에 대한 보다 정밀한 이해를 도모하기 위하여 수행되었다. 형태주의 심리학자들이 통찰을 문제 해결 분야에 도입한 이래 개념에 내재된 순환 논리의 문제는 그간 연구자들의 논의의 대상이었으며, 이러한 논리상의 문제는 최근 표상 전환 이론(Representational Change Theory)에서 제안한 통찰 개념화에서도 발견이 되었다. 또한 분석된 개념상의 논리적 문제는 통찰 문제에 대한 정의뿐만 아니라 통찰 문제 연구 설계의 논리나 통찰 문제를 사용한 실험 연구의 결과 해석에도 영향을 미침을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구에서의 논의는 가설 연역적 방법을 따르는 수많은 통찰 연구들이 그간의 노력에도 불구하고 소모적인 논쟁을 계속할 수밖에 없었던 근본적인 이유를 이해하는 단서를 제공했다는 점에서 의미가 있다 할 것이다.

영문 초록

This study was conducted to provide a more accurate understanding of the creative problem solving process by examining the logical problems inherent in the theoretical or empirical studies conducted to reveal the mechanism of the insight. Since Gestalt psychologists have introduced insight into problem solving field, the problem of circular logic embedded in concepts has been discussed by researchers, and these logic problems have also been found in recent insight conceptualization. In addition, it was shown that the analyzed conceptual problems affected conceptualization and classification of the insight problem, logic of the insight problem study design, and interpretation of the results of experimental studies using the insight problem. These findings would be helpful to understand the reason why contradictory findings has been reported from insight related research that follow hypothetical deductive methods.
