뉴스 이해 교육을 위한 교육과정 비교 연구

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 뉴스 이해에 관한 교육 내용의 현황을 검토하고 개선 방안을 제시하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 매체 교육과정이 우수하다고 평가되고 있는 호주와 캐나다의 교육과정을 우리나라의 교육과정과 비교․분석하였다. 분석 결과, 뉴스 이해에 관한 우리나라의 교육과정은 호주와 캐나다의 교육과정과 상당 부분 내용 요소를 공유하고 있었다. 그러나 공통적 내용 요소를 다루더라도 그 수준과 범위에서는 차이가 있었다. 우리나라에는 포함되어 있지 않았으나, 다른 두 나라의 교육과정에서 다루고 있는 변별적 내용 요소도 확인할 수 있었으며, 그러한 교육 내용에 대해서는 그 의의에 대해 논하였다. 마지막으로는 이상의 분석 결과를 토대로 뉴스 이해 교육 내용을 개선하기 위해 ‘뉴스 제작 관여 요인의 고려’, ‘뉴스 장르 지식의 강조’, ‘윤리적 측면에서의 뉴스 이해 교육 내용 마련’이라는 세 가지 방안을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this article is to propose ways of improving education contents for understanding of news. In order to propose those, this article analysed curriculums of Korea, Australia and Canada related to news comprehension. On the basis of the analysis, it was identified that Korea’s curriculum for news comprehension has several same education contents with Australia and Canada in spite of the difference of the level and range. In addition, it was identified there were education contents for news comprehension in Australia and Canada which were not in Korea’s curriculum. The value of such education contents for news comprehension was evaluated. Based on the result of analysis, I suggested to consider factors involved in news production, to emphasize news genre and to prepare education contents for news comprehension in aspect of ethics.
