청소년의 공감, 친사회적 행동, 행복의 구조적 관계: 상황에 대한 비용지각 차이를 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 공감과 친사회적 행동, 행복의 변인 간 구조적 관계가 비용(cost)지 각의 수준에 따라 달라지는지 확인하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 만화형식의 시나리오를 제작하여 비용 수준에 대한 타당화 과정을 거쳤으며 2017년 7월 중 서울 소재 중 고등학교 재학생 1122명을 표집하여 설문을 실시하였다. 자료분석은 CFA-MTMM을 통해 상황 효과를 제거한 후, 구조방정식을 활용하여 변인 간 인과관계를 분석하였 다. 그 결과, 도움을 제공해야 할 상황에 대한 비용지각이 낮을 때 공감과 행복간의 친사회적 행동의도의 매개효과는 유의하였으나, 비용지각이 높을 경우에 친사회적 행동의 매개효과가 전혀 나타나지 않아 친사회적 행동 유발에 공감이 아닌 또 다른 요인이 작용하고 있을 가능성을 보여주었다. 관련 내용을 중심으로 연구의 시사점을 논하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to identify structural relationships between empathy, prosocial behaviors, and happiness according to perception of cost in various situations experienced by adolescents. Hypothetical scenarios using the cartoon image based on the reality material that the adolescents would be experienced were made in order to accomplish the purpose of the research. 960 middle and high school students in Seoul participated in this research, and read and responded to the scenario. We found some result. First, when the perception of the cost for the virtual situation was low, the higher the empathy, the more prosocial behaviors were tended to be and the happiness was also increased. On the other hand, in case of the perceived cost of the situation was high, the empathy did not affect the prosocial behavior at all and not be seen the mediating effect of the prosocial behavior. Therefore, if the perceived costs for the situational context is high, another factor, not empathy, may be acted in prosocial behavior induction. The implications of this study are discussed.
