2015 개정 교육과정 중학교 기술·가정 교과서의 ‘일·가정 양립’ 단원 내용 분석

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 2015 개정 교육과정 중학교 기술·가정 교과서의 일·가정 양립 단원이 선행연구에서 다루어 온 일·가정 양립의 개념, 필요성, 문제, 해결방안에 대한 논의들을 어떻게 반영하고 있는지 분석하여, 향후 학습자들의 일·가정 양립 관련 실천적 문제해결 능력을 높이기 위한 교과서 내용에 대한 시사점을 도출하려는 것이 다. 이를 위해 2018년 7월부터 10월까지 중학교 기술·가정 교과서 12종의 일·가정 양립 단원의 본문 서술내용과 활동과제를 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 일·가정 양립 문제 해결방안에 대한 내용이 58%로 가장 많았다. 둘째, 일·가정 양립을 ‘일과 가정생활이 조화와 균형을 이룬 상태’라고 정의하였으며, 일·가정 양립의 필요성을 가족 가치관 변화나 맞벌이 가구 증가 때문으로, 혹은 일·가정 양립 실현이 개인, 기업, 사회에 가져다주는 효과를 제안하는 내용으로 서술하였다. 일·가정 양립 상황에서 발생하는 문제로는 가족 가치관 갈등, 역할 갈등, 일정 갈등, 자녀양육 및 교육 문제, 경제생활 관리의 문제를 다루었고, 해결 방안으로는 개인·가족 차원에서 양성평 등한 가치관 확립, 역할분담, 일정조절, 합리적 경제관리를, 그리고 사회·문화적으로는 부모휴가제도, 유연근무제도, 보육제도, 가족친화사업 등을 제시하였다. 셋째, 활동과제는 일·가정 양립 상황에서 경험할 수 있는 문제와 그 해결방안에 대한 학습자 들의 조사, 토의, 발표 활동이 가장 많았으며, 일·가정 양립의 정의나 그 필요성과 관련된 활동과제는 적은 편이었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 청소년기 학습자들이 일· 가정 양립에 대한 올바른 인식과 태도를 함양할 수 있도록 기술·가정 교과서에 반영될 필요가 있는 내용들을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

This study attempted to figure out how the 2015 revised curriculum middle school technology and home economics education textbooks reflected the suggestions and implications of existing literature on work-family balance on its textbook contents. In order to do so, I analyzed the main texts and activities of the chapter containing ‘work-family balance’ in the title from the 12 revised technology and home economics education textbooks. Analytic results were as follows. First, 58% of the contents were about ways to support balancing work and family life. Second, work-family balance was defined as ‘the state of balance between work and family life’, while its importance was suggested either by presenting the social context that brought about the issue, such as increasing dual-income households and changing family values, or by proposing the positive effects work-family balance could bring to individuals, companies and society. Third, difficulties in pursuing work-family balance were described as conflict in family values, role conflict, discordance in time schedule, childcare, and family budget management. Forth, suggested solutions to work-life imbalance were, for family members, having egalitarian gender role attitudes, sharing household duties, adjusting schedules, and rational management of household economy, and for the company and state, providing policies including parental leave, flexible working hour, childcare service, and family-friendly programs. Fifth, most of the activities were about students discussing solutions to work-family imbalance. Based on the results, I made suggestions about what needed to be reflected in the textbook to enhance practical problem solving capacity on work-family balance of its learners.
