국문 초록

본 연구는 내러티브 탐구 방법을 적용하여 가정폭력을 경험한 결혼이주여성의 삶을 심층적으로 탐색하는 데 있다. 연구참여자는 3명으로 출신국은 중국과 필리핀이다. 자료수집 기간은 2017년 7월부터 12월까지 5개월이며 개인별 심층면담을 통해 자료를 수집하였다. 연구결과, 연구참여자들은 한국에 대한 막연한 기대와 아울러 더 나은 삶을 위해 한국행을 선택하게 된다. 결혼 이후 그들은 주체적인 노력으로 경제적 어려움을 극복하고자 노력하였다. 그렇지만 남편의 일방적인 폭력으로 이혼을 하게 되고, 이혼 후 생계유지, 자녀 양육 등 홀로서기의 어려움 속에서 삶을 치열하게 살아가고 있었다. 그들은 힘든 상황에서도 주변 사람들과 긍정적인 인간관계를 맺고 있었을 뿐만 아니라 문제에 봉착했을 때 회피보다는 해결을 위해 적극적으로 노력하는 모습을 보였다. 이런 내러티브를 통해 이들에게 이혼은 이주 과정에서 절망의 시기가 아니라 사회적 생존과 적응을 위해 노력하는 자립 시기로 규정될 수 있음을 보여준다. 본 연구의 결과는 이혼한 결혼이주여성들에 대해 공감과 이해를 할 수 있는 계기를 마련해주며, 그들을 위한 지원체계 및 복지정책 개선을 위한 기초자료의 역할을 행할 것이라고 본다.

영문 초록

The aim of this study is to explore the narratives of foreign women married to Korean who had suffered from experiences of domestic violence. Through the theoretical research, this study will be the married immigrant woman of marriage life is divided into the following three stages: the early stage of marriage, the mid-terms stage of marriage, and post-divorce stage, thereby describe and analyze the different experiences that they have experienced or encountered in these three stages. In order to achieve research, this study adopts the approach to the study of narrative inquiry method, and the researchers selected three foreign daughters-in-law from China and the Philippines as the object of study as well. The results show that the study participants both said they chose to far from home and kindred to marry Korean, at first because of aspiration for a better life and blind expectation of life in Korea. However, the same thing happened to the study participants during their married lives, who were under increasing financial pressure and were often subjected to domestic violence. They tried to overcome all kinds of economic difficulties through their own efforts, but they were finally forced to divorce due to the unilateral violence of their husbands. After the divorce, they were fighting alone and living a hard life in order to survive and raise their children. In other words, for these married immigrant women, divorce should not be regarded as a period of hopelessness in the process of emigration, but rather as a new period of effort to better adapt to social survival, namely the self-reliance period . The significance of this study is based on the sympathy, understanding, and trust of divorced immigrant women, which can provide them with basic data on having an important role to play in helping to establish a support system and formulating welfare policies.
