국문 초록

본 연구는 2015년 ‘전국다문화문화가족 실태조사’ 자료를 활용하여 다문화가정 부모의 유아교육기관 선택요인을 분석하였다. 유아교육기관 선택요인에 관련되는 독립변수는 크게 1) 사회경제적 변인, 2) 가정구조 변인, 3) 이민자 변인으로 구성하였 으며, 주요 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 사회경제적 변인 중 가구소득은 유아교육 기관 선택에 유의한 요인으로 작용하였다. 가구소득이 높을수록 어린이집 대비 유치원에 다닐 확률은 높아지는 반면 부모 보육할 확률은 낮아졌다. 둘째, 자녀수, 출생 순서, 유아연령 등 가정구조 변인이 선택요인으로 유의하였으며, 구체적으로 자녀수가 많을수록, 출생순서가 낮을수록 어린이집에 비해 유치원을 선택할 확률이 낮아졌다. 셋째, 이민자 변인 중 소득이 높은 미국․유럽 출신 이민자의 경우 어린이집보다는 유치원이나 부모 보육을 선택할 가능성이 유의하게 높았다. 다문화가정 유아교육 기관 선택과 지원을 위해 유아교육기관에 대한 다양한 정보를 제공하고, 예비 및 현직 유아교사들에게 다문화에 대한 다양한 연수와 교육을 지원하고, 다문화가정 부모에 대한 한국어 교육 등 다양한 지원이 이루어질 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to analyze the determinants of child care institutes in multicultrual families by using the data from National Survey on Multicultural Families in 2015. The independent variables related to the choice factors of infant education institutions were composed largely of 1) socioeconomic variables, 2) family structure variables, and 3) immigration variables, and the main analysis results are as follows. First, the choice of the institute was significantly influenced by family income. Second, sibling order and child age had positive effects on kindergarten preference. But the number of children increases, it was less likely to enroll in kindergarten. Third, Preschool-aged children whose parents are American or European, more affluent were more likely to be in kindergarten than to be in the child care center. Based on the results, the several recommendations were discussed to support the children and parents in multicultural families such like providing information of child care institutes, strengthening pre-service and in-service teacher education and making Korean languages education programs based on the needs of multicultural families.
