학습부진아를 위한 수학 STEAM 프로그램에 대한 초등교사의 인식 및 요구 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 초등교육에서 융합인재교육(STEAM)이 원활히 정착하고, 더 나아가 학습부진아들에게 수학교과의 접근성과 수월성을 높이기 위하여 시작되었다. 초등 교사 600명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였고, 설문 기간은 2018년 6월14일～7월 13일 한 달간 이었다. 회수된 설문지 170부, 그 중 오류 응답지 1부를 제외한 169부를 자료로 채택하였다. 통계분석은 초등교사의 수학 STEAM 교육에 대한 인식 및요구를 분석하기 위하여 SPSS 23.0 프로그램을 사용하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 융합인재교육(STEAM)에 대한 교사의 이해도와 경험의 차이는 교육 경력과 상관성이 낮았으며, 부진아 지도경력과 STEAM 관련 연수 경험과는 상관성이 있었다. 특히 융합인재교육(STEAM) 관련 연수 경험은 높은 상관관계를 맺고 있었다. 둘째, 융합인재교육(STEAM)에 대해 교사들은 일반 교육의 수학․과학에는 긍정적인 영향을 미친다고 응답한 반면, 학습부진아 교육에 대해서는 회의적인 반응을 보였다. 셋째, 수학중심 STEAM 교육에 대해서 많은 교사들이 ‘수와 연산’, ‘도형’ 영역에서 연구 개발이 필요하다고 응답하였다. 특히 부진아 지도경력이 높은 교사일 수록 ‘수와 연산’ 영역의 연구 개발의 필요성에 동의 하였다. 수학중심 STEAM 교육 발전을 위한 주관식 서술 부분에서 많은 교사들이 지도안의 개발 및 보급, 과도한 업무의 경감, 다양한 연수의 활성화, 전문적 학습공동체 활성화 등을 제시하였다. 또한, 학습부진아의 수학교육 발전을 위한 주관식 서술 부분에서는 많은 교사들이 현실적인 실생활 연계 프로그램, 개념 이해 중심의 내용 구성, 결과물에 얽매이지 않는 경험중심 프로그램을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to establish STEAM education in elementary education. And to improve the accessibility and excellence of mathematics subjects to underachievers. A questionnaire survey was conducted for 600 elementary teachers. The survey period was one month from June 14 to July 13, 2018. Among the 170 questionnaires collected, 169 were selected as the data except for one error response questionnaire. Statistical analysis was conducted using the SPSS 23.0 program to analyze the perceptions and needs of elementary school teachers on mathematics STEAM education. The results of this study are as follows. First, the differences of teachers understanding and experience on STEAM education were not correlated with educational experience, and there was a correlation between experience of underachievers and STEAM - related training experiences. The STEAM-related training experience was highly correlated. Second, teachers in STEAM education have a positive effect on mathematics and science in general education. There was a negative response to underachiever education. Third, many teachers answered that they need research and development in Number and Algorithm and Diagram areas for mathematical STEAM education. Especially, teachers with many experiences in underachievers agree with the need for research and development of Number and Algorithm . Many teachers suggested the development and dissemination of instructional plans, reduction of excessive work, activation of various training programs, and utilization of professional learning communities. In addition, many teachers suggested that the explanatory part for the development of underachievers mathematics education is a realistic life-linking program that motivates and maintains learning motivation, contents composition based on conceptual understanding, and experienced program.
