언어철학적 관점에 입각한 이성복 시 읽기 방법

국문 초록

세상과 세상의 그림인 언어는 동일한 구조를 가진다는 구조적 동형성(同形性)은, 문학작품이 세상의 반영이며 문학 속의 세상은 실제 세상과 동일한 구조적 실체에 해당한다는 입장이다. Wittgenstein은 언어의 요소들이 특정한 방식으로 서로 관계를 맺고 있다는 것은 실물들이 그렇게 관계 맺고 있다는 것의 표상이며, 언어는 현실과 연결된다고 본다. 이성복의 작품 역시 시적화자와 세계, 주체와 타자의 갈등 자체를 내면화함으로써 이분법적 대립의 무화를 시도한다거나, 치욕과 고통의 과정을 보여주기도 하며, 그러한 현실로부터 사랑을 발견하는 과정을 모색하기도 한다는 점에서 유사하다. 반면, Wittgenstein은 언어 사용은 놀이의 규칙으로 언어 사용자가 준수해야 할 일종의 명령으로 볼 수 있으나, 실제 언어 상황에서 이러한 규칙은 연상 작용으로 대체되는 하나의 도구에 불과함을 강조한다. 그는 언어 규칙의 애매성을 부인하고 언어 놀이는 하나의 관습과 제도에 속하는 것이지만, 고정적인 활동일 수없음을 분명히 하고 있다. 이성복도 언어기호를 유희적 도구로 인식하고 기존의 시문법을 해체함으로써 새로운 규칙으로의 전회를 시도하는 놀이정신을 지향한다. 여기에 이성복 시 읽기의 방편으로 언어철학적 관점을 차용하는 것은 이유가 있다고 하겠다.

영문 초록

The theory of structural homology indicating that the world and languages, which are the pictures of the world, have the same structure is in the position to believe that literary works are the reflection of the world and the world in literary works corresponds to the same structural substance as the real world. Wittgenstein regards that the fact that the elements of language are related to each other in certain ways is the representation of the fact that real things are in such relationships and that languages are connected to the reality. Lee Seong-bok s works are similar in that they attempt the nihilation of dichotomous conflicts by internalizing the conflicts between the poetic speaker and the world and between the subject and others, show the processes of humiliation and pain, and seek the process of discovering love from such reality . On the other hand, Wittgenstein emphasizes that although languages are used according to the rules of plays which can be regarded to be a sort of orders that must be observed by language users, such rules are only a tool that is replaced by associations in actual language situations. He denies the ambiguity of language rules and makes it clear that although language plays belong to a custom and system, they cannot be a fixed activity. Lee Sung-bok also perceives language symbols as playful tools and dissolves existing poetic grammar, thereby pursuing a play spirit that attempts turning into new rules. This can be said to be the reason why the viewpoint of language philosophy is borrowed as a means of reading Lee Seong-bok s poems.
