국문 초록

본 연구는 경찰사무의 기능별로 분류한 국가경찰, 수사경찰, 자치경찰 업무에 종사하는 경찰공무원들의 공공봉사동기에 대한 인식차이를 분석하여 결과를 도출하고 공공봉사동기를 높이기 위한 경찰조직의 전략적 제안을 하는데 있다. 분석결과 한국의 경찰공무원들의 공공봉사동기는 사무기능별로 인식의 차이가 나타나고 있으며, 공공가치의 몰입이 가장 많은 차이가 있었다. 이는 개인의 공공봉사동기 내재화는 오랜기간동안 형성된 동기임에도 불구하고, 경찰 사무의 기능별 및 다양한 환경적 요인에 의해 강화 혹은 약화 될수 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 이에 경찰공무원의 공공봉사동기에 대한 체계적인 교육 및 관리전략의 전환을 모색할 필요가 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

This study analyzes the differences in perception of public service motivation among police officials in national police, investigative police, and autonomous police work classified by police service function, and makes strategic proposals for police organizations to derive results and increase public service motivation. As a result of the analysis, there was a difference in perception of public service motivation of police officials in Korea for each office function, and the commitment to public interest was the most different. It was found that the internalization of an individual's public service motivation could be strengthened or weakened by various environmental factors and functions of police affairs, even though it was a motivation formed for a long time. Therefore, it will be necessary to seek a change in systematic education and management strategies for the public service motivation of police officials.
