대학생의 요약문 쓰기 교육 연구

국문 초록

목적 이 연구는 S대학교의 교양필수 <비판적 읽기와 글쓰기> 수업과 연계하여 본 교과에서 표준화하고 있는 요약문 쓰기 교육을 제안하고, 학생들의 요약문 사례를 분석하여 질적 성과를 고찰하고자 한다. 특히, 요약문 쓰기는 비교과 프로그램인 글쓰기 클리닉과 연계하여 운영되므로, 이를 활용한 요약문 쓰기 교육의 성과를 살펴볼 것이다. 방법 이를 위해 연구자는 2020학년도 1학기부터 2021학년도 2학기까지 <비판적 읽기와 글쓰기>를 수강한 학생들의 요약문 사례로 질적 분석을 하였다. 연구자는 네 학기에 걸쳐 10개 분반의 수강생 총 230명이 제출한 요약문을 일차적으로 검토하고, 이 중에서 8명의 요약문을 선정하여 사례 분석을 시도하였다. 그리고 글쓰기 클리닉 참여자를 대상으로 한 설문조사 결과에 기초하여 요약문 쓰기 교육에 대한 학습자의 인식을 검토하였다. 결과 연구 결과, 텍스트 기반의 요약문 쓰기 교육을 통해 매 학기 수강생들의 요약하기 및 바꿔쓰기 능력이 크게 향상되었으며, 개요와 내용을 구조화하는 재구성 능력도 함양되었다. 그리고 설문조사 결과, 요약문 쓰기 교육에 대한 학생들의 만족도가 높게 나타났으며 학생들의 인식도 매우 긍정적으로 드러났다. 결론 이를 통해 비교과 프로그램인 글쓰기 클리닉과 연계한 대학생의 요약문 쓰기 교육이 학생들의 요약 능력을 함양하는 데 크게 기여한다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구는 대학 교육에서 필요한 요약문 쓰기 교육을 비교과와 연계하여, 일대일 멘토링을 통한 학습자 중심의 글쓰기 교육 방안을 탐색하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study proposes summary writing education standardized in this subject in connection with S University's liberal arts compulsory class, and analyzes students' summary cases to examine qualitative performance. In particular, since summary writing is operated in connection with the writing clinic, an extra academic activity, the results of summary writing education using it will also be examined. Methods To this end, the researcher conducted a qualitative study using a summary of students who took Critical Reading and Writing from the first semester of 2020 to the second semester of 2021. First, the summary submitted by a total of 230 students in 10 classes over four semesters was first reviewed, and eight of them were selected for case analysis. In addition, learners' perception of summary writing education were reviewed based on the results of a survey of participants in the writing clinic. Results As a result of the study, through text-based summary writing education, students' summarization and transcription skills were greatly improved every semester, and reconstruction ability to structure overview and content was also cultivated. And as a result of the survey, students' satisfaction with summary writing education was high, and students' perceptions were also very positive. Conclusions Through this, it was found that the summary writing education in connection with the writing clinic, a comparison program, greatly contributes to cultivating the summary ability of college students. This study is meaningful in that it sought learner-centered writing education through one-on-one mentoring by linking summary writing education required in university education with extra academic activities.
