온라인 수업의 시험 운영전략 도출을 위한 사례 연구

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 온라인 수업이 일반 대학에서의 보편적 수업형태가 되어버린 시점에서, 온라인 수업에서 시험에 대한 공정성, 신뢰감과 만족도를 높이기 위한 시험 운영전략을 도출하는 것을 그 목적으로 한다. 방법 이를 위해 부산지역 A 대학 교직수업과 교양수업에 참여하는 학생 88명을 대상으로 온라인 수업의 시험운영 현황과 온라인 시험에 대한 학생 인식조사와 문헌조사를 바탕으로 1차 온라인 시험 운영전략을 도출했다. 1차 전략을 46명의 학생을 대상으로 적용하여 긍정 의견과 부정 의견을 바탕으로 개선점을 도출하고, 개선된 2차 전략을 다시 45명의 학생들에게 적용하여 개선점을 도출했다. 개선된 3차 전략을 다시 47명의 학생들에게 적용한 결과를 바탕으로 학생들의 반응을 수집했다. 1차, 2차, 3차 온라인 수업의 시험 운영전략의 개선에 따라 참여자들의 시험에 대한 공정성, 신뢰감과 만족도에 변화가 있는지를 확인하고, 이를 바탕으로 최종적으로 온라인 시험운영 전략을 구체화했다. 결과 조사 결과 대다수의 수업이 온라인으로 진행되지만, 시험은 여전히 대면시험의 비중이 높았다. 학생들도 온라인 시험보다는 대면시험을 선호하는 것으로 나타났다. 그 이유는 온라인 시험의 편리성은 인정하지만, 부정행위에 대한 우려, 온라인으로 인한 불이익, 익숙하지 않은 방식과 시스템에 대한 불안 등이 크기 때문으로 나타났다. 이를 통해 온라인 시험을 위해서는 부정행위를 예방하고 학생 불안을 해소하는 등의 운영전략이 필요함을 확인했다. 3차례에 걸쳐 시험운영 방법을 개선한 결과 온라인 시험에 대한 공정성, 신뢰감, 만족도가 유의미하게 향상된 것을 확인하고 최종적으로 공정한 온라인 시험운영을 위한 5가지 측면의 전략을 도출했다. 결론 공정하고 신뢰로운 평가는 학생의 노력과 동기부여를 촉진하고, 반대로 평가의 공정성과 신뢰성 결여는 학생의 성취욕구를 감소시키고 성과에 대한 기회주의와 냉소주의를 형성할 수 있음을 고려할 때, 본 연구의 결과는 온라인 환경에서도 공정한 시험과 평가를 원하는 교수자들에게 필요한 안내를 제공할 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to derive strategies for conducting an online exam to increase the fairness, trust, and satisfaction of the test at a time when online classes have become a universal class form in general universities. Methods For this purpose, the 1st strategies are derived based on the result of survey about test conducting status of online classes and students perceptions of the online exam for 88 students at Pusan A university, and the results of literature research. After applying the 1st strategies to 45 students, improved the 2nd strategies were derived through the positive and negative opinions of the participants. Next, the 3rd strategies were derived based on the results of applying the 2nd strategies to 42 students. Then, participants responses were collected after an online exam in which the 3rd strategy re-applied to 47 students again. According to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd strategies, it was checked whether there were any changes in the participants fairness, trust, and satisfaction with the exam, and finally, the online exam conducting strategies are embodied. Results As a result of the survey, the majority of classes are actually conducted online, but face-to-face tests are still more active, and students also prefer face-to-face tests over online exams. Although acknowledging the convenience of online exams, it was found that students do not prefer online exams because of concerns about cheating, disadvantages caused by online, and anxiety about unfamiliar methods and systems. Through this, it was confirmed that it is necessary to prevent cheating and relieve student anxiety to conduct an online exam. As a result of improving the test operation strategies three times, it was verified that the fairness, trust, and satisfaction of the online exam were significantly enhanced, and 5 strategies were derived for a fair online exam. Conclusions Fair and trustworthy evaluation promotes student effort and motivation, and conversely, lack of fairness and trust in evaluation can reduce students desire for achievement, as a result, form opportunism and cynicism about performance. This study can provide guidance for fair exams and evaluation in an online environment.
