수학 수업 관찰 도구 활용이 예비교사의 주목하기 능력 향상에 미치는 효과

국문 초록

목적 주목하기는 교직 경력이 없는 예비교사들에게 키우기 어려운 역량 중 하나이다. 본 연구는 예비교사들의 수학 수업 관찰 도구 학습이 주목하기 역량을 향상시키는 효과를 파악한다. 방법 실험군인 예비교사들은 수학 수업 관찰 도구중 하나인 MQI를 12주동안 학습하고 이를 이용하여 수업 영상을 분석하는 연습을 하였다. 실험군과 대조군의 예비교사들에게 동일한 수학 수업을 시청하게 하고, 두 그룹의 예비교사들이 작성한 수업에 대한 기술을 Star와 Strickland(2008), 수학적 주제, van Es(2011)에 따라 분석하였다. 각 빈도를 카이 제곱 검정과 Fisher 정확 검정으로 검정하였다. 결과 수학 수업 관찰 도구를 학습한 실험군은 대조군보다 수업을 시청할 때 교실 관리나 교실 환경보다 수학적 내용과 의사소통에 더 많은 주목을 하였고, 활동에 주목할 때에도 구체적인 대상을 언급하였다. 또한 실험군은 의사소통의 대상을 명확하게 파악하는 경향이 있으며, 수학적 주제를 명확히 파악하였고, 수업의 전반에 대한 대략적 기술보다 구체적인 순간에 주목하는 역량을 갖게 되었다. 결론 수학 수업 관찰 도구 학습이 예비교사들의 주목하기 능력을 향상시키는데 효과가 있으므로, 본 연구는 이 도구의 학습을 교사 교육에 구현하는 것을 주장한다. 또한, 이러한 학습을 한 예비교사들이 실제 수업에서 학습된 주목하기 능력이 어떻게 발휘하는가에 대한 연구를 제안한다.

영문 초록

Objectives Noticing is one of the challenging abilities of preservice teachers because of the lack of teaching experience. The current study investigates the effect of learning a mathematics instruction observation tool to improve their ability to notice in instruction. Methods For the experimental group, Mathematical Quality of Instruction, one of the tools for analyzing mathematics instruction, was implemented to preservice teachers with the practice to observe mathematics instruction videos for 12 weeks. Writings about the instruction video are collected from the control group and treatment group. The data were analyzed according to Star and Strickland (2008), mathematical objects, and van Es (2011). The frequency was tested by the Chi-square test and Fisher s exact test. Results As a result of the study, the learning of the observation tool for mathematics instruction helped preservice teachers notice the mathematical content of communication or communication rather than to notice classroom management or classroom environment. In addition, such learning helps preservice teachers improve their ability to notice specific moments in instruction more clearly. Conclusions Learning a mathematics instruction observation tool to improve preservice teachers ability to focus on instruction and mathematical objects in instruction specifically. Thus, the current study claims that a mathematics instruction observation tool is effective to improve their ability to notice. Moreover, research on learning a mathematics instruction observation needs on what these preservice teachers notice in instruction.
