사주오행(四柱五行)의 계량화(計量化)와 적용에 대한 고찰

국문 초록

1970년대 이후 인문․사회과학의 다양한 분야의 현상이나 현황을 설명하기 위한 방법론으로서 계량화(計量化, quantification)가 활용되고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 사주오행의 분석에 있어 계량화 기법을 도입하여 사람의 인성ㆍ적성ㆍ건강에 대한 상관성을 고찰하는 것이다. 만세력 어플에 의해 누구나 사주명조를 손쉽게 알 수 있는 현재의 시류에 따라, 사주 명조의 계량화를 통한 분석법을 체계화시키면 교육 현장이나 다방면의 인간관리 영역에서 명리학의 수량화된 자료를 효과적으로 적용할 수 있다. 논자는 연구목적의 달성을 위해 음양의 특성, 오행별 특징, 사주간지의 위치별 역량 등에 대해 기술한 명리 고전들을 현대적 시각으로 분석하고 사주 간지별 오행의 역량을 간지 위치에 따라 일간의 역량이 20, 나머지 7간지의 역량의 합계가 100이 되도록 계량화하였다. 오행들의 계량화된 수치로써 각각의 오행을 무(無)ㆍ쇠(衰)ㆍ안정(安定)ㆍ왕(旺)ㆍ극왕(極旺)으로 분류한 후, 인성(人性)은 각 오행별 수량의 무ㆍ쇠ㆍ왕ㆍ극왕의 특징과 일간의 성향이 융합되어 발현되고 적성(適性)은 왕ㆍ극왕하는 오행을 위주로 발달됨을 논하였다. 또한 건강은 각 오행별 역량의 왕쇠에 따라 유의해야할 7가지 유형을 분류하고 예시하였다. 본 논문을 통해 명리학에 대한 관심과 이해가 제고되고 특장점이 다 방면에서 유용하게 활용될 수 있는 계기가 마련되길 바란다.

영문 초록

Quantification has been used as a methodology to explain phenomena or current status of various fields of humanities and social science since the 1970’s. The purpose of this study is to introduce the quantification technique to the analysis of Five Elements in Saju to examine how they shall be corcerned to the character, aptitude, and health. The analytical method can be effectively applied to education or human management area in various fields when systematized through the quantification of the Eight Letters of the Saju of Destiny by following current trend; anyone can easily find out the Eight Letters of the Saju of Destiny by using the perpetual calendar app. To achieve the purpose of this study, the classics in Myungli Science on the characteristics of yin and yang, characteristics of each of the Five Elements, and capabilities of each letter of the Saju according to their position were analyzed in modern viewpoint. Also, the capabilities of the Five Elements in each letter are quantified by giving 20 points to the main letter and 80 points to other seven letters according to their position so that the total comes to 100 points. As quantified figures, each of the Five Elements were divided into Nothingness, Declination, Stability, Prosperity, and Extreme Prosperity. For the character, the characteristics of Nothingness, Declination, Prosperity, and Extreme Prosperity of each of the Five Elements were integrated with the tendency of the main letter and for aptitude, the characteristics were manifested mainly around the prospering or extremely prospering element. For health, seven types to pay attention to in accordance with the prosperity and declination of capabilities in each of the Five Elements were classified and related examples were given. It is to be wished that this study raises interest in and understanding of the Myungli Science and becomes an opportunity to utilize its features usefully in various fields.
