초기 Organum과 16C 선법대위의 연관성 및 선법대위의 오류에 대한 고찰

국문 초록

본 논문의 목적은 16세기 대위법 이론을 보다 명확히 정의하는데 있으며 대위법에 관한 것을 다루는 만큼 초기 다성 음악(9세기 Organum)의 생성과정과 특징도 함께 살펴봄으로써 16세기 대위법에 미친 영향을 음정관계 중심으로 짧게나마 밝혀보았다. 9세기 Organum부터 선법대위의 완성인 16세기까지 오랜 시간을 거쳤음에도 초기 다성 음악에서의 음정적 특징이 16세기 대위에까지 많은 부분 영향을 미친 점은 지극히 일반적 사실임에도 불구하고 새롭게 작품에 응용하여 다시 한 번 초기 다성 음악과 16세기 대위의 음정관계에 대한 연구를 하는 계기가 되었다. 또한, 이 논문에서는 대위법의 숨어져 있는 오류를 설명하기 위하여 일반적 이론을 통하여 각 종별 특징을 다루며 문제점을 지적한다. 각 종별로 옳고 그름에 대한 예를 제시하여 애매모호한 일반적으로 알려져 있는 대위법의 이론을 보다 명확히 밝히려 하였으며, 16세기음악이론 및 대위법만으로 작곡되어진 김 수호의 (감사미사) 를 통하여 대위법이 실제 악곡에서 어떻게 적용되었는지를 악곡을 통하여 살펴보았다. 본 논문은 선법대위의 올바른 정립을 하였고, 특히 18세기 조성대위와의 애매모호한 관계를 명확히 구분지어 지금까지 잘못 이해된 이론들을 정리하였다.

영문 초록

The objective of this paper is to clearly define contrapuntal theory of 16th century and futhermore the formational process of the organum in the early days of 9th century is discussed in order to observe the influences of the organum on 16th century contrapuntal interval relationship. During the period from 9th to 16th centuries, Organum was formed and Modal counterpoint was fully developed. In this long period of time, intervallic characteristics of the early days of the organum were gradually affected on numerous features of counterpoint until 16th century. The author applied it to his own composition to study the intervallic features of 16th century counterpoint. Furthermore, in order to explain the contrapuntal mistakes in details, the author describes the general principle of counterpoint to discuss the problem and characteristics in each contrapuntal species. The theories ambiguously understood was clarified by giving correct and incorrect examples in each species, and the clarified theories are explained with Missa de Deo Gratias , the work composed only with 16th contrapuntal theory by the author. The clarified theory presented in this paper corrects the ambiguous principles of modal counterpoint, as well as the vague relationship between modal counterpoint and 18th century tonal counterpoint.
