국문 초록

이 연구는 영유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니의 우울과 사회적지지 사이의 종단적인과 관계를 밝히는 데 목적이 있다. 이에 영유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니를 대상으로 3개년도(2009년～2011년)에 걸쳐 측정한 한국아동패널 자료를 분석하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 어머니의 우울과 사회적 지지는 시간에 따라 안정적이고 지속적으로 유지되는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 이전 시점의 어머니의 우울과 사회적 지지는 이후 시점의 우울과 사회적 지지에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 어머니의 우울과 사회적지지 사이의 종단적 인과관계를 분석한 결과, 어머니의 우울은 이후 시점의 어머니의 사회적 지지에 유의한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났으며, 어머니의 사회적 지지는 이후 시점의 어머니의 우울에 지속적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과에 기초하여 유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니의 사회적 지지는 어머니의 우울의 직접적인 원인 변인일 가능성을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to identify the longitudinal reciprocal relationships between maternal depression and mothers’ social support. Fourth waves(2009~2011) of panel data from the Korea Institute of Child Care and Education were analyzed in this study by an adapted autoregressive cross-lagged modeling. The major findings are as follows. Frist, maternal depression and mothers’ social support were significantly over time in the total 3 wave data. Second, maternal depression had not a statistically significant effect on mothers’ social support. But mothers’ social support had a statistically significant effect maternal depression. These findings suggests that the maternal depression can not be evaluated differently depending upon mothers’ social support, and that mothers’ social support can be evaluated differently depending upon the maternal depression. The implication derived from the results and related study, discussion for reciprocal relationship among young children and mother.
