유아기 자녀의 놀이에 대한 어머니의 인식과 양육효능감의 관계 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니의 배경에 따라 자녀의 놀이에 대한 인식과 양육효능감에 차이가 있는지를 조사하고, 어머니의 놀이인식과 양육효능감 간의 관계를 알아보고자 하였다. D시에 위치한 4개 유치원의 어머니 218명이 2015년 6월 한달 간 놀이인식과 양육효능감 검사에 응답하였으며, 수집된 설문지는 SPSS 22.0으로 분석하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 첫째, 어머니의 교육수준, 취업여부, 월평균 가구소득, 자녀의 연령에 따라 자녀의 놀이에 대한 어머니의 인식과 양육효능감은 집단 간 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 둘째, 자녀의 놀이에 대한 어머니의 인식 정도와 양육효능감의 관계를 분석한 결과, 놀이인식이 높을수록 양육효능감이 높아 유의미한 정적 상관관계가 나타났다. 자녀의 놀이에 대한 인식이 양육효능감에 미치는 영향력을 조사하기 위하여 단계적 다중회귀분석을 실시한 결과, 놀이인식의 하위요인 중 자녀와의 놀이참여, 자녀의 놀이능력, 유아놀이의 개념 및 교육적 가치 순서로 높은 영향력을 나타냈다. 이러한 결과는 어머니의 양육효능감을 증진시키기 위하여 유아교육기관이 공동책임의식을 가지고 자녀의 놀이에 대해 다양한 측면에서 인식할 수 있도록 도울 필요가 있음을 시사한다.

영문 초록

This study aims to investigate the differences of mothers’ perceptions on their young children’s play and parenting self-efficacy according to the personal background and the relationship between the perceptions of play and parenting self-efficacy. Two hundred eighteen mothers from four kindergartens in D city participated in a Perception of Play Test and a Parenting Self-Efficacy Test during one month of June, 2015. SPSS WIN 22.0 was used to analyse the collected survey questionnaires. The results were as follows. First, there were some statistically meaningful differences on the mothers’ perceptions of play and parenting self-efficacy among groups depending on the mothers’ education level, the employment status, monthly income level, and their child’s age. Second, there were some statistically meaningful differences on the parenting self-efficacy scores between groups, depending on the perceptions of play scores. The group with the higher perception scores tended to show a higher parenting self-efficacy scores. Third, stepwise multiple regression analyses showed that parenting self-efficacy level was strongly affected by the perception of participation in child’s play, child’s play skills, and the value of play in order. The results implies the needs for examining mothers’ perceptions of their young children’s play to increase their parenting self-efficacy level. Discussion includes the ways to support mothers within shared responsibility between home and school in order to provide their children with a proper parenting environment.
