의과대학 통합교과 내 PBL과 단위교과 PBL이 학생 만족도와 자기효능감에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구는 일개 의과대학 통합교과 과정 내에서 처음으로 시도하는 PBL 교육방법이 시간이 지남에 따라 학생 만족도와 자기효능감에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 또 기존 교육과정 상에 포함되어 있는 블록식 PBL 수업과 통합교과 내 PBL 수업의 학생 만족도, 자기효능감에 대한 비교 연구도 시행하였다. 연구 대상은 의학과 1학년 학생으로 이후 진급하여 의학과 2학년 2학기까지 수업을 받은 학생이고, 수업은 의학과 1학년 1학기의 블록식 PBL과 1학년 2학기부터 2학년 2학기까지의 8과목 통합교과 내 PBL 수업이다. 연구 결과는 시간이 지남에 따라 통합교과 내 PBL 수업에 대한 학생 만족도와 자기효능감이 대부분의 설문 문항에서 높아지는 경향을 보였고, 블록식 PBL 수업과 통합교과 내 PBL 수업을 비교해 본 결과 통합교과 내 PBL 수업이 높은 학생 만족도를 나타냈으며 자기효능감도 높게 나타났다. 그러나 학생 만족도와 자기효능감 만으로 PBL 수업에 대한 효과를 나타내는 것은 한계가 있다. PBL에 영향을 미치는 다양한 학습 요인에 대한 연구가 지속적으로 이루어져야 할 것이며 PBL 수업에 대한 효과 검증 연구도 지속되어야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

In this study, PBL education’s gradual impact on students’ satisfaction and self-efficacy are analyzed which is the first attempt in the integrated education curriculum at the medical school. Also, students’ satisfaction and self-efficiency in the block-type PBL classes, which are included in the original curriculum, and those in the PBL classes of the integrated curriculum were compared and studied. The subject was a medical student in a freshman year who took classes until sophomore year later. The student took block-type-PBL classes during the first semester of the freshman year and then took the eight PBL classes of the integrated curriculum from the second semester to the whole sophomore year. The study shows that the survey results regarding students’ satisfaction and self-efficacy have increased as time goes by. Also, when the PBL class of block-type was compared to those of the integrated curriculum, the PBL classes of the integrated curriculum have higher satisfaction and the self-efficiency. However, there are other variables that affect the result, so further supplementary studies are required. Moreover, not only the PBL’s impact on satisfaction and self-efficiency, but its impact on the academic performance should be studied later.
