신체활동 가치중심 교육과정의 현장 정합성에 대한 초등교사들의 인식 탐구

국문 초록

본 연구는 2007․2009 개정 신체활동 가치중심 교육과정이 초등학교 현장에서 어떻게 받아들여지고, 실행되고 있는지를 탐구하였다. D광역시와 K도 초등학교 체육 전담 남교사 3명을 선정하여, 질문지, 심층면담 등을 통해 자료를 수집하였으며, 주제별 약호화 및 분류 방법으로 분석하였다. 연구 참여자들은 가치중심 교육과정이 전인교육을 재인식하게 하는 계기가 되었으며, 기능부족에 따른 수업 부담을 해소하여 교사와 학생의 적극적이고 즐거운 수업을 유도하고, 특히 창의·인성 교육을 용이하게 함으로써 교과의 부정적 인식을 개선하는데 기여한 것으로 평가했다. 한편 신체활동의 위축과 운동기능의 저하를 초래했다고 비판하고, 체육의 본질적 요소인 활발한 신체활동과 운동기능의 복권을 주장했다. 신체활동 가치 선정과 내용 구성에서는 가치 선정의 주관성, 신체활동 가치의 제한성 및 활동 내용의 폐쇄적 구조화를 비판하면서도 현실을 수용하고 전인교육과 인성교육에 효과적이라는 이중적 태도를 보였다. 그러나 전체적으로 잦은 교육과정 개정 자체를 현장성이 결여된 그들만의 리그로 받아들이고, 교과의 정체성 확립을 위해 개정 주기를 길게, 범위를 최소화할 것을 요구하였다. 마지막으로 교육과정 개정에 맞추어 현장교사들이 공감하고 수업 적용 능력을 함양할 수 있는 연수를 제도화해야 한다고 요구했다.

영문 초록

In this study, it was examined how the physical activity value-based curriculum revised in 2007 and 2009 had been accepted and carried out in elementary school fields. The subjects evaluated the value-based curriculum as motivating them to see whole person education in a new light, inducing teachers and students to participate in class actively and pleasantly by solving the burden of class due to the lack of skills, and particularly contributing to the improvement of negative recognition about subjects by making creative and character education easier. On the other hand, they criticized it for stunting physical activities and for resulting in the deterioration of motor skills, and argued that vigorous physical activities and motor skills, the essential elements of P.E., should be reinstated. Regarding the selection of physical activity values and organization of contents, they assumed a dual attitude by criticizing subjectivity in selecting values, limitation in physical activity values, and exclusive structurization of activity contents, and simultaneously, by accepting the reality and considering it as effective for whole person and character education. Yet, on the whole, they understood the frequent revisions of curriculum itself as their own league wanting in on-the-spotness, and demanded that the period between amendments should become longer and the range of revision should become minimized for the establishment of identity of the subject. Lastly, they also asked for the institutionalization of training following revision of curriculum, which can help teachers in the education field sympathize with it and enhance their abilities to apply it to their classes.
