지방 사립 사범대학 학생들의 진로결정과 진로준비 실태 연구

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 지방 사립 사범대학 학생들의 진로결정과정과 진로준비 실태를 조사하여 사범대 학생들의 진로지도 방안을 모색하고자 한다. 본 연구를 위해 국어교육과, 영어교육과, 수학교육과 3학년과 4학년, 총 206명이 참여하였으며 연구방법으 로는 설문지와 인터뷰가 사용되었다. 자료 수집은 2016년 11월과 12월 사이에 이루어 졌으며, 자료 분석 방법은 빈도분석, T-검증, ANOVA, 반복적 비교분석 기법이 사용되었다. 연구결과를 살펴보면 학생들의 사범대 진학 동기는 교과목에 대한 흥미와 적성보다는 교사라는 직업을 더 고려하고 있었다. 총 206명의 학생 중 현재 191명은 진로를 결정하였다고 응답하였으며 15명은 결정하지 않았다고 응답하였다. 이 중 교직으로 결정한 학생은 139명(67.5%)이었으며, 비교직으로 결정한 학생은 52명 (25.2%)이었다. 입학 당시 89.8%의 학생들이 교직을 진로로 생각하고 있었다고 응답한 결과와 비교해보면 적지 않은 수의 학생들이 진로를 변경하였음을 알 수 있었다. 과반수이상의 학생들은 취업가능성에 대해서 부정적으로 인식하고 있었으며, 학생들의 이러한 인식은 취업노력정도와 구체적 진로준비활동에 영향을 미치고 있었다. 학생들은 사범대를 다니고 있기 때문에 임용시험 준비 외에 다른 비교과 활동 참여가 불필요하다고 인식하고 있었다. 본 연구결과는 사범대 학생들이 처한 진로결정과 진로준비과정의 어려움을 이해하고 교육과정 개편을 포함한 적극적인 진로지도가 필요함을 시사하고 있다.

영문 초록

This study investigated career decision and preparation of students who were majoring in Korean education, mathematics education, and English education at a university in Kyungnam province. 206 students participated in the present study. 89.8% of the students responded that they entered into the teachers college with the hope of being a teacher. Although most of the students chose their majors with an interest in being a teacher, they showed relatively low interest in their majors itself. 67.5% of the students in this study responded that they had decided to be a teacher. The burden of the teacher qualification examination was the main reason of choosing other professions regardless of the majors. The students career preparation focused mainly on studying the teacher qualification examination. The students perceived that participating extracurricular activities was unnecessary. The students showed a negative perspective towards job prospects. The results suggest that teachers college and policy makers need to consider the current problems of the teachers college students are facing and improve the education system to better equip students with competency.
