북한의 1학년 ‘음악’ 및 ‘음악무용’ 교과서 내용 비교를 통한 교과서의 변화 양상 연구

국문 초록

최근 들어, 사회주의 체제 속에서 수십 년 동안 변하지 않았던 북한의 학교 음악교육은 많은 변화의 과정을 거치고 있는 것으로 나타난다. 그동안 북한의 학교 음악교육과 음악교과서 관련 연구들은 지속적으로 이루어져왔지만 대부분 2002년까지 발행된 음악교과서를 대상으로 한 연구들이다. 본 연구는 1학년을 중심으로 2002년과 2007년에 발행된 ‘음악’ 교과서와 교과목 명칭의 변경 후 2013년에 발행된 ‘음악무용’교과서의 내용을 분석․비교하여, 그간 북한 음악교과서에 나타난 변화의 흐름을 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 먼저 인민학교와 소학교 1학년 ‘음악’교과서의 내용을 분석하여 결과를 제시하고, 김인선(2016)이 연구한 소학교 1학년‘음악무용’교과서의 내용을 살펴봄으로써 세 종류의 북한 교과서에 나타난 주요 변화의 양상을 분석하였다. 2002년 이후 북한의 ‘음악’ 및 ‘음악무용’교과서는 첫째, 오선악보의 사용(2002)에서 숫자악보의 사용(2007)이라는 새로운 시도 이후 오선악보와 숫자악보를 함께 사용(2013)하고 있고, 둘째, 교과서의 악곡은 10여 년 동안 송가의 비중이 낮아지고 서정가요의 비중이 현저하게 높아졌으며, 셋째, 노래활동이 주를 이루기는 하였지만 기악과 감상을 일부 포함하던 음악활동은 2007년 교과서에서는 기악활동이, 2013년 교과서에서는 기악과 감상활동이 완전히 사라지고 대신 무용활동이 많은 비중을 차지하는 것으로 나타났다. 음악교육에 있어 통일시대를 준비하기 위해서는 북한 음악교육의 변화 양상을 인식하고 있어야 하며, 학교 음악교육과 관련된 미래지향적인 연구의 필요성이 제기된다

영문 초록

In recent days, school music education in North Korea is going through a great degree of transitional process. This change had not been possible in the past few decades due to the country’s strict social system. Despite continuous efforts of the past to study North Korea’s school music education and music textbooks, there seem not to be more studies other than those based on textbooks published until 2002. The purpose of this study is to investigate the transitional flow of North Korean music textbooks by comparing and analyzing ‘music’ textbooks published in 2002 and 2007 with ‘music dance’ textbooks published in 2013, focusing on the first grade. In order to achieve its objective, this study displays the results of comparing and analyzing the content of North Korean people’s schools and primary schools. Additionally, by examining the ‘music dance’ textbooks of primary school first graders this study analyzes the mains aspects of transition shown in the three types of North Korean textbooks. North Korean ‘music’ and ‘music dance’ textbooks published after 2002 show the following features: 1) the five line musical notes and numeral musical notes are used simultaneously (2013) after the attempt to use numeral musical notes (2007), a change from the original usage of five line musical notes (2002), 2) for the past decade, there is a remarkable decrease in praising songs and an increase in lyrical songs in textbooks musical pieces, and 3) song-oriented activities experienced change as instrumental activities disappeared in 2007 and both instrumental and appreciation activities disappeared in 2013, leading to a greater proportion of dance activities instead. In terms of music education, to prepare for the age of unification, it is necessary to have cognition and realization regarding the aspects of transition in North Korea’s music education, and the need for future-oriented study based on school music education is being brought up.
