통합교육 운영 만족 예측모형 분석에 근거한 통합교육 개선 방안

국문 초록

본 연구는 일반교사와 특수교사의 통합교육 운영 만족도에 미치는 잠재변인과 외 생변인의 직․간접 효과를 확인하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. G도 전체 초․중․고등학교에 특수학급이 설치된 일반학교의 통합학급 담당 일반교사와 특수교사 각 1 명에게 온라인 설문을 실시하여, 일반교사 445명(39.4%)과 특수교사 683명(60.5%)의 총 1,128명이 연구에 참여하였다. 설문 결과를 바탕으로 일반교사와 특수교사를 하나의 교사 집단으로 고려하여 구조방정식 모형 분석을 실시한 결과는 다음과 같다.첫째, 초등학교가 중․고등학교 보다 통합교육 만족도가 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 특수교사와 일반교사 간의 통합교육 운영에 대한 만족도에 대한 직접효과는 없는 것으로 나타났다. 각 집단의 교직경력은 통합교육 운영에 대한 간접효과만을 보였다. 그 밖의 통합교육 담임교사 경력, 통합교육 연수, 협력교수와 같은 외생변인은 통합교육 운영에 대하여 어떠한 영향도 미치지 않고 있었다. 둘째, 초등학교의 일반교사가 초등학교의 특수교사보다 통합교육 만족도에 대하여 학교공동체의 수용태도를 매개로 하는 긍정적인 간접효과를 나타내었다. 셋째, 교직경력이 높은 교사들의 경우에 학교공동체의 장애학생들에 대한 수용태도가 긍정적일 때, 통합교육 만족도가 높은 것으로 설명될 수 있다. 본 연구의 결과는 초등학교에서 고등학교에 이를 때까지 통합교육의 만족도가 낮아지는 원인과 일반교사에 비해 상대적으로 낮은 통합교육 운영 만족도를 보이는 특수교사에 대한 추후 연구의 필요성을 제안하고 있다.

영문 초록

This study examined to identify factors affecting teacher satisfaction toward inclusion. 1,128 general/special education teachers’ survey responses were collected by Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education. A structural equation modeling was utilized to examine the total, direct, and indirect effects among school type, special education teacher, teacher experience, professional development, co-teaching, school professional groups’ attitude toward students with special needs, and teacher satisfaction toward inclusion. The results indicated that teachers at elementary schools had more positive attitudes toward student with special needs than middle and/or high school teachers. Special education teachers were less positive on the attitude toward inclusion than general education teachers. And the general/special education teacher satisfaction toward inclusion had an indirect effect of teachers’ attitude toward inclusive education via teaching experience. This study highlights the current status of inclusive education in the public education system. It also contributes to understanding challenges and tasks to improve inclusive education that meets special education student needs and teachers with/without special education teacher licenses.
