자유학기제 진로탐구 프로그램 개발 사례

국문 초록

본 연구는 최근 중학교 현장에서 많은 관심의 대상인 자유학기제에 부합하는 교육방법을 이론적으로 검토하고 프로그램을 개발하여 사례를 제시하고자 한다. 자유학기제는 학교교육에서 근시안적인 진학지도 보다는 인생전반에 영향을 미치게 될 진로지도의 중요성을 강조하면서 그에 알맞은 교육내용 및 교육방법을 추구하고 있다. 곧, 학생스스로가 직접체험하고, 실험, 실습 및 프로젝트학습 등을 할 수 있도록 환경을 마련하여 학습자가 학습의 주체가 되는 교육을 지향한다. 따라서 본 연구는 자유학기제에서 추구하는 자기주도학습, 창의적 체험, 다양한 표현, 자기성찰, 참여, 협업 등을 충족할 수 있는 프로그램을 개발하고자 하였다. 본 프로그램은 과학, 기술, 수학, 미술, 문학 등의 융합활동이 포함된 ‘재활용 제품 개발하기’ 프로젝트학습을 진행하며 각 영역에 해당하는 진로를 탐구 할 수 있도록 하였다. 이를 위해 2015년 4월부터 8월까지 프로그램 개발준비과정을 거쳐 2015년 9월부터 10월 동안 중학교 2학년 25명의 학생들에게 10차시의 프로그램을 적용하였다. 프로그램의 적용 결과 참여 학생들은 자유학기제가 제시하고 있는 기대효과인 적성에 맞는 자기계발 및 인성 함량, 만족감 높은 행복한 학교생활 등에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤음을 확인 할 수 있었다. 본 연구결과를 통해 자유학기제 프로그램의 실질적인 사례를 제시하고 학교현장에 자유학기제의 특성을 살린 프로그램 적용의 활성화를 기대해 보고자 하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to suggest the cases by theologically reviewing and developing the program of the education method which corresponds to the Free Semester System that has been highlighted in many sites of Middle school recently. Free Semester System is pursuing the suitable education contents and education method while emphasizing the importance of career guidance that will influence to the life time of students rather than the shortsighted career guidance in the school education. That is, it orients the education in which the learner can be the subject of learning by creating the environment so that students can experience themselves, do the activities of experiment, test and project study. Therefore this study intends to develop the program which can satisfy the self-directed study, self-reflection, participation and collaboration. This program is designed to search the careers corresponding to each area by conducting STEAM based project study, in other words, to solve the project in which fused activities are contained such as Science, technology, mathematics, art and literature. In order to research the result of this activity, we applied the programs of 10 sessions to 25 second graders of Middle school. As a result, it was proved that participants positively influenced to the expectation effect suggested by Free Semester System which includes, First, the self-development suitable their aptitude and the cultivation of personality, Second, Happy school life with high satisfaction. We intend to suggest the actual cases of Free Semester System program, expect the activation and application of program which makes the most of characteristics of Free Semester System in the actual school site.
