중학생의 교사신뢰척도 단축형의 개발 및 신뢰와 학업수행의 관계분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 중학생의 교사에 대한 신뢰를 측정하는 교사신뢰척도의 활용도를 높이기 위해 단축형을 개발하고 학업수행과의 관계를 분석하는 것이다. 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여 서울과 경기도에 재학 중인 340명의 중학생들을 연구대상으로 하였다. 수집된 자료는 척도의 심리측정적 특성을 검증하기 위해 주성분 분석과 확인적 요인분석을 실시하였고 학생들의 교사에 대한 신뢰와 학업수행의 관계를 알아보기 위해 상관분석을 실시하였다. 주성분 분석결과, 인지적 신뢰(Cronbach alpha=.84)와 정의적 신뢰(Cronbach alpha=.82)의 두 개의 요인이 추출되었다. 확인적 요인분석 결과는 2요인 모형이 본 연구의 표집에 타당한 모형임을 확인해 주었다(NFI=.988, TLI=.986, CFI=.990, RMSEA=.069). 또한 내적 합치도 신뢰도와 요인계수들은 양호하였다. 신뢰와 학업수행의 상관관계는 정적 상관관계이며 통계적으로 유의하였다. 교사에 대한 신뢰감을 갖는 학생은 높은 학업동기를 갖는다. 따라서 교사와의 관계성은 학생들의 학업수행을 예측하는 중요한 변인이 될 수 있다. 학교교육과 교사에 대한 신뢰의 위기가 높아지고 있는 현 시점에서, 본 연구가 학교에서의 신뢰관계에 대한 지속적인 연구를 촉진할 수 있는 매개가 될 수 있기를 기대한다.

영문 초록

This study aims to develop a short-form scale of the students’ trust in teachers and analyze the relationship between the middle school students trust and their academic performance in order to enhance the utilization of the trust scale. To accomplish this purpose, data were collected from the secondary students in Seoul and Kyunggi-do, Korea. Data were subjected to a principal components analysis and a confirmatory factor analysis. Correlation analysis was conducted to find out the relationships between their trust and academic performance. In principal components analysis of the sample, two factors were identified and labeled: Cognitive Trust (Cronbach alpha=.84) and Affective Trust (Cronbach alpha=.82). A confirmatory factor analysis showed that the two-factor model was valid for the sample (NFI=.988, TLI=.986, CFI=.990, RMSEA=.069). Internal consistency reliability and factorial validity were satisfactory in this sample. The correlations between the participants’ trust and academic performance are moderately positive and statistically significant. Students who have good trust relations with teachers have high academic motivation. Therefore, Feelings of relatedness to teachers are a key predictor of students’ academic performance. At this point of time when the crisis of trust in school education and teachers is escalating, this study is expected to contribute to the continuous promotion of research on trust in schools.
