국문 초록

목적 이 글의 목적은 장르적 특성이 서로 다른 텍스트에서 사건과 인물을 지시하는 지시 표현의 양상을 살펴보고, 이러한 지시하기의 양상이 어떠한 차이를 가지는지를 살펴보는 것이다. 방법 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위하여 체계기능언어학의 식별어(identification) 이론을 활용하여, 동일한 사건을 대상으로 하는 서로 다른 장르적 특징을 지닌 텍스트들(이태원 참사 관련 편지글, 연설문, 보도기사, 사설)에서 인물과 사건이 어떻게 소개되고 추정되는지 지시 해석에 따라 추적해 보았다. 결과 식별어 분석 결과, 텍스트의 장르적 특성의 차이에 따라 지시하기의 양상이 차이가 나타나고 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 예를 들어, 지시 대상에서 이 네 텍스트들은 차이가 나타난다. 이태원 참사 관련 편지글은 인물 중심으로 지시 표현이 나타나며, 이태원 참사 관련 연설문은 인물과 사건 모두가 중심이 되어 지시 표현이 나타난다. 그리고 이태원 참사 관련 보도기사와 사설의 경우는 인물보다는 사건을 중심으로 지시 표현이 나타난다. 결론 이상의 연구를 통해서 텍스트의 장르적 특성에 따라 지시 표현이 다양한 형식으로 실현된다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 그리고, 이러한 지시 표현의 기능은 지시 대상에 대한 화자/필자의 평가하기를 나타낸다는 것과 텍스트 전반에 걸쳐 동일하게 식별되는 지시 표현이 배치됨으로써 형성된 지시 사슬을 통해 응집성을 형성하기도 한다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this article is to examine the aspects of reference expressions that indicate events and characters in texts with different genre characteristics, and to examine the differences in these aspects of reference. Methods For this purpose, the identification theory of systematic functional linguistics was used to track how people and events were introduced and presumed in texts(letter, speech, news report, and editorial related to the Itaewon disaster) with different genre characteristics targeting the same event, according to reference interpretation. Results As a result of identification analysis, it was found that there were differences in the aspect of reference according to the differences in the genre characteristics of the texts. For example, there is a difference between these four texts in the referent. The letter related to the Itaewon disaster appear to be directed around the person, and the speech related to the Itaewon disaster appear to be directed around both the person and the event. In the case of news seport and editorial related to the Itaewon disaster, reference expressions appear around the event rather than the person. Conclusions Through the above research, it was found that the reference expression is realized in various formats according to the genre characteristics of the text. In addition, it was confirmed that the function of this reference expression represents the evaluation of the speaker/writer for the referent and that cohesion is formed through the reference chain formed by arranging the referent identified equally throughout the text.
