국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 대학생의 종단 자료를 이용한 잠재성장모형 분석을 통하여 대학생활의 만족도의 종단적 변화 추세와 대학생활 및 어학 능력이 어떤 역할을 하는지를 분석하였다. 방법 잠재성장 모형은 시간의 흐름에 따라 해당 값의 변화량을 파악하여 향수 성장성을 파악하는 모형으로서 본 연구에서는 한국교육개발원이 구축한 한국교육종단연구 데이터를 사용하였고 잠재성장모형을 이용하여 대학생활 만족도의 변화와 만족도에 영향을 주는 변수들의 영향력을 분석하였다. 결과 대학생활 만족도는 전반적으로 학년이 올라가면서 떨어지는 추세를 보이고 있고 특히 마지막 학년에 감소폭이 큰 것으로 나타나고 있다. 영어 성적의 경우 학년 별 각각의 구간에서 대학생활 만족도에 대해서 유의한 영향을 미치지 못하는 것으로 나타났고 동아리 활동의 경우에는 저학년에 대해서만 한정적으로 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 결론 본 연구의 가치는 어학 능력과 동아리 활동이 대학생활 만족도에 미치는 긍정적인 효과가 학년에 따라서 달라질 수 있음을 밝힌 최초의 연구 결과로서 학년별 학생 만족도 증대를 위한 대학 정책의 필요성을 보여준 연구이다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study analyzed the longitudinal change trends in satisfaction with college life and the role of college life and language skills through a latent growth model analysis using longitudinal data of college students. Methods The potential growth model is a model that identifies future growth potential by identifying the amount of change in the value over time. In this study, data from the Korean Educational Longitudinal Study established by the Korea Educational Development Institute were used and the potential growth model was used to determine the level of satisfaction with college life. The influence of variables affecting change and satisfaction was analyzed. Results Satisfaction with college life generally shows a downward trend as the grades increase, with a particularly large decrease in the final grade. In the case of English grades, it was found to have no significant effect on satisfaction with college life in each section by grade, and in the case of club activities, it was found to be only limited to lower grades. Conclusions The value of this study is that it is the first study to show that the positive effects of language skills and club activities on satisfaction with college life can vary depending on the grade, showing the need for university policies to increase student satisfaction by grade.
