유아들의 스마트폰 과의존에 영향을 미치는 요인에 대한 메타분석

국문 초록

목적 본 연구의 목적은 메타분석을 통해 유아들의 스마트폰 과의존에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 분석하고자 하였다. 방법 유아들을 대상으로 스마트폰 과의존과 관련된 2023년까지 국내에서 발표된 논문 중 34편의 연구들을 선정하여 메타분석을 실시하였다. 34편의 연구에서 전체 소연구 210개의 개별 효과크기를 산출해 통계적 변환을 통해 유아들의 스마트폰 과의존에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석하기 위해 R 통계 프로그램을 사용해 메타분석을 실시하였다. 결과 메타분석을 통해 유아들의 스마트폰 과의존에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석한 결과 첫째, 유아 변인보다는 부모 변인이 유아의 스마트폰 과의존에 좀더 영향을 끼치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 유아 관련 보호 변인으로는 공감능력, 촉발 변인으로는 문제행동의 효과 크기가 가장 큰 것으로 나타났고, 부모 관련 보호 변인으로는 긍정적 양육태도, 촉발 변인으로는 양육스트레스의 효과크기가 가장 큰 것으로 나타나 유아의 공감능력, 부모의 긍정적 양육태도가 스마트폰 과의존을 예방하는 요인으로, 유아의 문제행동, 부모의 양육스트레스가 스마트폰 과의존을 촉발하는 요인들로 나타났다. 결론 유아의 스마트폰 과의존에 직접적으로 영향을 주는 부모 관련 변인이 유아 관련 변인보다 영향을 많이 끼치므로 부모의 양육스트레스와 부모의 스마트폰 과의존을 낮춰줄 수 있는 부모교육 및 프로그램을 적용하는 것이 좀더 효과적이고, 이를 통해 부모들은 자녀에게 스마트폰 사용의 좋은 모델링을 보여줄 수 있어 자녀의 스마트폰 과의존 예방에도 도움을 줄 수 있는 부모교육 프로그램 개발이 필요할 것이다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study was to analyze factors affecting infant's smartphone overdependence through meta-analysis . Methods A meta-analysis was conducted by selecting 34 studies among papers published in Korea until 2023 related to smartphone overdependence among infants. A meta-analysis was conducted using the R statistical program to calculate the individual effect sizes of 210 substudies from 34 studies and analyze the factors affecting smartphone overdependence in infants through statistical transformation. Results As a result of analyzing the factors affecting infant's smartphone overdependence through meta-analysis, first, it was found that parent variables had more influence on infant's smartphone overdependence than infant's variables. Second, the effect size of empathy ability as an infant-related protective variable and problem behavior as a trigger variable were found to be the largest, while positive parenting attitude as a parent-related protective variable and parenting stress as a trigger variable were found to have the largest effect size. It was found that the infant's ability to empathize and the parents' positive parenting attitude are factors that prevent smartphone overdependence, while the infant's problem behavior and parents' parenting stress are factors that trigger smartphone overdependence. Conclusions Since parent-related variables that directly affect infant's smartphone overdependence have more influence than infant-related variables, it is recommended to apply parent education and programs that can reduce parents' parenting stress and parents' smartphone overdependence. There is a need to develop a parent education program that is more effective and allows parents to show their infant good modeling of smartphone use, thereby helping prevent infant's overdependence on smartphones.
