기계번역 활용 능력 강화를 위한 고등학생용 인공지능과 영어 교과 융합 교육 콘텐츠 타당성 검증

국문 초록

목적 본 연구에서는 인문계 고등학생을 대상으로 기계번역 활용 능력 강화를 위한 인공지능 영어 융합 교육 콘텐츠의 타당성을 검증하였다. 방법 이를 위해 영어교육 및 인공지능 융합 교육 분야의 전문가 집단을 구성하여 델파이 조사를 실시하였고, 기계번역 활용 능력 강화 수업의 필요성부터 수업 방향, 수업 구성, 수업 내용 등에 대한 의견을 수렴하여 인공지능 번역기 활용 능력 강화를 위한 수업자료를 타당성을 검증하였다. 결과 델파이 조사를 통해 전문가 집단의 참여자 수가 15명일 때의 내용타당도가 확보되는 기준 값인 .49를 기준으로 하위문항별 타당도를 분석하였다. 1차 델파이 조사 결과 수업 구성(.33), 3차시 수업 내용(.33) 및 3차시 학습지(.46) 항목에서 타당하지 못하다는 결과가 나왔다. 콘텐츠 내용을 수정한 뒤 2차 델파이 조사를 실시하였고, 수업의 필요성, 설계, 구성 및 차시별 수업내용 등 전체 항목에서 통계적으로 유의미한 수치를 확보하며 인공지능 융합 영어교육 콘텐츠의 타당도를 확보할 수 있었고 델파이 조사는 2차로 마무리하였다. 결론 기계번역 활용 능력 강화를 위한 인공지능-영어 융합 교육은 필수적이다. 이를 위해 번역기의 원리와 특징, 번역기의 차이점 이해, 번역 차이 유발 원인 파악, 번역 오류 판단 등을 통해 이러한 능력을 강화시킬 수 있는 융합 교육 콘텐츠의 타당도를 확보했다는 점에서 본 연구는 큰 의의를 지닌다. 그러나 기계번역 활용 능력과 학생들의 영어 실력이 분리될 수 없는 개념이므로 이를 함께 향상시킬 수 있는 융합교육 방안에 대해서도 지속적인 연구가 필요할 것이다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study aimed to validate AI and English Integrated Teaching Materials for High School Students to Improve Machine Translation Literacy. Methods To accomplish this, we organized a group of experts in the field of English education and artificial in-telligence integrated education and conducted a Delphi survey. We collected opinions on the necessity of strengthening translator utilization skills, that is, machine translation literacy, as well as the goal, structure, and content of the classes, in order to validate foundational materials for lessons that enhance the utilization skills of artificial intelligence translation systems. After revising the contents, the second Delphi survey was conducted. Results The validity of each sub-question was analyzed based on .49 which is the standard value for securing content validity when the number of participants in the expert group was 15. As a result of the 1st Delpi survey, it was found that it was not valid in the content structure(.33), the content of the third class(.33), and the content of the third class worksheet(.46). After revising the contents, the second Delphi survey was conducted. Statistically significant figures were secured in all items such as class necessity, design, structure, and content of each class. The validity of the artificial intelligence convergence English education contents was secured, and the Delphi survey was completed in the second round. Conclusions AI-English integrated education is essential to improve Machine Translation Literacy. This study is of great significance in that it has validated AI integrated education contents that can strengthen Machine Translation Literacy by understanding the principles and differences of translators, identifying the causes of trans-lation differences, and judging translation errors. However, since Machine Translation Literacy and students' English skills are inseparable concepts, continuous research will be needed on integrated education methods that can improve them together.
